Interesting, yes.

I'll also bring up (just because it's cool) that you can go to http://msweb01.co.wake.nc.us/realestate/search.asp and look at tax values, info, and pictures about property in Wake County. Might be useful to compare the tax value and/or the last sale price to the estimate given on the site above.

My parents current house isn't on there but everyone else in the neighborhood is.. strange.

Anyway, my house in CT we sold for 400,000 and it's up above 650,000 in only 6 years. The real estate in that market has SKYROCKETED. My house in NC we sold for 450,000 and it's down to 400,000 in 6 months. Strange..

The current house we bought for more then any listed in the neighborhood but it surely isn't the biggest/most land.. wierd..

Yeah, mine was undervalued, hopefully.

I have a townhouse and the girl that has one identical to mine sold hers last summer for 30,000 more than that site reported.

Probably not able to determine regional advantages in the model, like inside the beltline.

my parent's house couldn't even be found. only one in the neighborhood without a value given.

i wonder when the information was gathered...our neighbors bought their house 4 years ago at ~$130K, and sold it this past fall for $235K. it's listed at $178K.

My grandparents' old house:
Tax assessed value: $500

Home Facts Residence: Single family
Bedrooms: --
Baths: --
Total rooms: --
# Stories: 1
Sq ft: 624
Lot size: 7,668,738 sq ft / 176.05 acres
Year built: 1930

My uncle lives there now. He wouldn't sell it, but it's a good thing he has all that land available, which would be worth a lot.

My parents' house is listed at $177K, they have it on the market for $335K, nothing in the neighborhood is listed over $200K, and nothing in the neighborhood has sold for less than $200K in recent memory. Tax value doesen't mean much.

tax value doesnt mean anything because no one wants to appraise their house just so they can pay more taxes

I posted http://www.zillow.com/ in one of the home search threads some time last week.

Most info on the site is more valueable to WA, OR real estate area.

(Company and most of the real estate consultants are based in WA)
