the knicks are trying to get Franchisenow, franchise is (or at least used to be before he was traded) my favorite playerbut wowjust what the knicks need, another shoot first guardgg isiah
2/14/2006 9:08:43 PM
yea he has no idea what he's doing
2/14/2006 9:11:50 PM
imagine that backcourt, Marbury and Francis, put Iverson to shame.
2/14/2006 9:12:18 PM
imagine the egos clashing
2/14/2006 9:12:52 PM
the knicks salary cap hole is going to be worse than the national deficit by the time he's done
2/14/2006 9:13:17 PM
and they're still gonna win ~30 games a year.
2/14/2006 9:16:10 PM
2/14/2006 9:17:21 PM
if the knicks could get ron artest they could start a gang
2/15/2006 10:39:16 AM
hey don't hate on isiah!
2/15/2006 10:54:11 AM
2/15/2006 10:55:59 AM
HE HAS TO BE THE WORST GM IN THE BIZ
2/15/2006 11:17:58 AM
Isiah is the worst General Manager of all time. (crippled the Knicks for the forseeable future)Isiah is the worst head coach of the decade. (got nothing out of some talented Indiana teams)Isiah is one of the worst owners of all time. (bankrupted the CBA in a flash)Why would you employ this guy for anything? Because he smiles?

2/15/2006 11:45:37 AM
Overrated? He has been the laughingstock of the NBA for almost a decade now... He's HORRIBLE.... Look at the people he's acquired... Jerome James, Quentin RIchardson, Eddy Curry, Jamal Crawford... there's a reason no one wanted these guys...Then he just gives guys like Nazr Mohammed & Kurt Thomas away...He also has a knack for ridding himself of expiring contracts and draft picks.Seriously, how hard is it to watch a basketball player for 30 minutes and figure out if he's good or if he sucks?I could do a better job than 50% of NBA GM's without a doubt, but even my mother could do better than Isiah.
2/15/2006 11:57:32 AM
I HONESTLY THINK LARRY BROWN IS NOT OVERRATED....HE WILL WIN.....HE DOESN'T LIKE THIS TEAM AT ALL...HE IS BUYING HIS CHANCE TO GET MORE CONTROL OF THE TEAM.....THE MORE IT FAILS NOW THE BETTER CHANCE OF HIM GAINING MORE CONTROL IN THE FUTURE
2/15/2006 11:58:10 AM
gg Bill Simmons
2/15/2006 12:04:59 PM
2/15/2006 2:10:26 PM
i think rwoody might be the ONLY person referring to steve francis as the franchiseconsidering franchises dont get trade
2/15/2006 2:12:05 PM
i'm pretty sure espn's front page said 'new york wants steve franchise' yesterdaybut yea, that is his nickname and he is my boyunfortunately he is a fuckupbut on nba live he is averaging 60 ppg and a trip dub w/ ast and stls
2/15/2006 2:14:05 PM
"Stevie Franchise"?How about "Stevie Lottery pick"?As in, if this guys in your backcourt, you're getting a lottery pick.
2/15/2006 7:51:05 PM
I concur
2/15/2006 8:30:23 PM
it happenedfancIS (ok?) for hardaway and arizaso the knicks trade hardaway's 15 mil contract that expires after this season for francis' three year 49 mil contractgg isiah
2/22/2006 5:13:31 PM
yea, financially it was a smart movebut think will gain them like 10 more winsI dont see him and Starbury sharing the ball wellheres to me being wrong, tho
2/22/2006 5:23:26 PM
actually i think it was a bad move financially and strategiacllythey would have had penny's contract gone but instead they have francis' for two more years
2/22/2006 5:29:00 PM
Francis will come around and produce, hopefullyat the very least he'll be trade bait for laterSo i would say in the long run, Knicks win outwe'll see
2/22/2006 5:33:39 PM
Now the Knicks have another shoot-first guard. Another guy who puts up great stats while his team loses. Isaiah is an idiot.
2/22/2006 5:48:17 PM
i'd rather have cap room than francis as trade bait. and the thing is, ariza isn't that bad. funny stuff, thomas is definitely the worst GM ever. i mean, i could see picking up a big man equally as talented as francis to add to this team, but why the hell get another shooting guard when you have marbury, crawford, quentin, etc etc etc etc?[Edited on February 22, 2006 at 7:06 PM. "lets trade our cap relief and cheap potential talent away for a player we already have 2 of who will cost us lots of money for years! its sure to work!"

I still like the NBA. However, being a Knicks fan since the time I moved to NC (I moved the day of Game 2 of the '99 Finals) has turned me off to it. I can't stand to watch Dolan and Isiah run the team into the ground anymore. It's so frustrating. They need to learn from what the Rangers did and follow suit.. I still can't believe a Dolan team is actually going with hard working, lower paid players like the Rangers are. I know it's not that easy but I think the Knicks can at the very least take a bit from what their arena-mates are doing..[Edited on February 24, 2006 at 9:12 AM. Reason : oh I've been a Knicks fan forever but since '99 it's sucked.. just to be clear..]
2/24/2006 9:10:17 AM
Man, they've given up all their cap space and draft picks for the next 3-5 years.... that franchise is fucked. If i were you I'd pick a surrogate team and if anyone wants to give you hell for it tell them to die.Their is no law of fandom that states you must root for a team that is intentionally trying to build a loser.
2/24/2006 9:12:33 AM
great article by sports guy if anyone missed this it is a must readhttp://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060224
2/24/2006 5:50:02 PM
i glanced at the game tonight and they said nate robinson was inactive and they were speculating that it was b/c, w/ francis around, there isnt enough pt to go around nowand he seemed promising now he might rot on the bench the rest of the yearthat is some bullshit
2/24/2006 10:14:25 PM
isn't there some way the fans can drive him out?I mean they must see this guy is killing their team more then any coach they've fired
2/25/2006 2:26:14 AM
^^^ okay i dont know how i missed that... that is great
