This weekend at the All-Star game they are celebrating what they are calling the "Next 10" to go along with the 50 greatest players of all time.Kobe is the front-runner lock to be in the "Next 10" but one guy from foxsports says:"Kobe is top 5 of all-time"so i was wondering what everyone thought about kobe being top 10 of all time my ten are this as of now:1)MJ2)Wilt3)Russell4)Magic5)Kobe6)Bird7)Kareem8)Shaq9)West10)Hakeem

you are such a fucking n00b.how old are you?HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF OSCAR ROBERTSON?THAT BITCH AVERAGED A TRIPLE DOUBLE.Kobe is purely a scorer, nothing more.you cant be top 10 of all time strictly based on the fact that you are great in one category.this is retarded.
2/14/2006 4:17:16 PM
no fucking way
2/14/2006 4:17:28 PM

2/14/2006 4:21:51 PM
you're kidding right? Kobe in the top 10? He hasn't done anything without Shaq.
2/14/2006 4:29:07 PM
no i forgot shaq was with him when he scored 81
2/14/2006 4:29:45 PM
yeah, i say top 10 because he's too good of a scorer to be left out. he can't win by himself, but he's the best scorer in the league right now
2/14/2006 4:32:16 PM
switch kobe and kareem, bump west in front of shaqmjwiltrussmagickareembirdwestkobeshaq (HAW HAW HAW)the dream
2/14/2006 4:35:44 PM
duncan is coming close to making that list if he isnt already there
2/14/2006 4:36:40 PM
the way i see it in the time that each great player played there were many other great playersMJ had, magic, hakeem, drexler, ...magic and birdand so onbut right now there arent that many and still kobe doesnt stand out glaringly
2/14/2006 4:38:14 PM
John Havlicek, Karl Malone (even though i hate him, he IS arguably the best statistical Power Forward of all time), George Mikan, Earl "The Pearl" Monroe. Where in the fuck are they at on your pathetic list?DON'T EVER, EVER QUESTION ME ABOUT MY BASKETBALL KNOWLEDGE, YOU FUCKER.....I HAVE FORGOTTEN MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW.thread = .03/10[Edited on February 14, 2006 at 4:50 PM. Reason : asdf][Edited on February 14, 2006 at 4:51 PM. Reason : Scottie Pippen?]
2/14/2006 4:50:42 PM
i'm going to have to agree ... karl malone is the #2 scorer ALL TIME ... definitely deserves to be on ahead of hakeem
2/14/2006 4:53:32 PM
scottie pippen was on the 50 greatest list wasnt he?
2/14/2006 5:00:00 PM
yes, and the fact that nobody has mentioned charles barkley yet is criminal
2/14/2006 5:03:54 PM
2/14/2006 5:10:00 PM
2/14/2006 5:13:12 PM
Iverson scores alot too, why wasn't he mentioned? I don't think Kobe is even in my top 10 SG of all time, let even top 10 player.
2/14/2006 5:30:50 PM
Also, where is Pistol Pete? Rick Barry?
2/14/2006 5:31:39 PM
Pistol Pete wasn't that great in the NBA and Rick Barry played too much ABA ball to be considered.
2/14/2006 5:33:57 PM
^he said of all time, not NBA only. With that in mind, where's Dr. J and Wes Unseld? I can go on and on.
2/14/2006 5:36:32 PM
1) JORDAN2) WILT3) BIRD4) MJ5) MALONE6) RUSSELL7) KAREEM8) OSCAR9) HAKEEM10)SHAQKOBE DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE....

2/14/2006 6:00:06 PM
Shaq is absolutely a top-10 player. His impact is obvious when looking at the Lakers and Heat before and after.Hakeem and Maravich never dominated the game the way Shaq did during his time in Los Angeles.[Edited on February 14, 2006 at 6:06 PM. Reason : 2]
2/14/2006 6:05:09 PM
Kobe is up there, id say he's probably top ten.Malone? Be serious guys. He's a choke artist.Top 50 fine, top 10 inane.Last post of the day. It's V'day i gotta do it up so i can bang her back out.
2/14/2006 6:10:09 PM
a good nba debate, i like it.1. mj2. wilt3. big O4. russell5. west6. magic7. kareem8. shaq9. ELGIN BAYLOR10. birdi got mikan just outside the top 10, maybe instead of bird.
2/14/2006 6:31:59 PM
It is very discouraging to see potential knowledgeable lists have Wilt over Bill Russell on every one of them. I guess because all you see is Wilt's popularity and Russell's quite demeanor off the court. Does anyone know why we have a three second violation of the painted area? I seemed to have forgotten. Also, ask anyone who lived in that era who they'd rather have, Wilt or Russell.[Edited on February 14, 2006 at 6:46 PM. Reason : sp][Edited on February 14, 2006 at 6:54 PM. Reason : sp]

kobe aint shithe isnt even top 20
2/14/2006 7:46:41 PM
I agree. I would barely have Kobe top 10 in the NBA right now. 1) Duncan2) Garnett3) Lebron4) Iverson5) Dirk6) Wade7) Amare8) Brand9) McGradyI would dare say I would take any of those over Kobe.
2/14/2006 7:48:53 PM
even iverson is better than kobe if i were to start a team with the players playing today, and i could pick one, I'd pick all these people b4 kobeLebron JamesDwayne WadeDirkDuncanShaqAmare StoudamireSteve NashElton BrandIversonGarnettJulius Hodge

no intelligent basketball mind would have russell over wilt. u have to be retarded. i would like to see some kind of proof that the 3-second rule had anything to do w/ russell. it was because of wilt. wilt avg'd more pts, boards, and assists per game. he was a better all around player than russell, and thats not really opinion, its fact. before u start bringin up the rings, do u really think russell would have won so many without cousy and havlicek?still surprised no one else even mentioned elgin baylor? does any body else even have a clue?[Edited on February 14, 2006 at 9:43 PM. 2/14/2006 9:47:42 PM

well that is the offical nba list from 96 when it was compiled
2/14/2006 9:49:48 PM
LOL @ Robert ParishMaybe I just have a flawed memory of him...and he was like 195 years old when I saw him play... but the Chief just didn't have it in him. (Off night, I guess )
2/14/2006 9:51:11 PM
haha, yea theres a guy that played a little past his prime. he was like 50 when he retired.
2/14/2006 9:52:08 PM
1611 games....i think....some can look it up (im to lazy)
2/14/2006 10:03:13 PM
2/14/2006 10:03:42 PM
so ur using shaq's opinion for ur claim? im still not sure how you're saying russell was better, especially without using stats. wat are you using, besides what shaq siad? im not caught up in any hoopla, i fully understand the dominance of bill russell, dont get me wrong, but c'mon, with wilt u have a GREAT ALL AROUND player, with russell u have a marginal offensive player and a great rebounder and defender. still takin wilt over big bill any day of the week, and twice on sundays.
