Are we all sure that we want Phillip in a jets jersey?
2/14/2006 3:05:02 PM
^I think we are all sure that we don't want Phil to sit on the bench for another year
2/14/2006 3:07:28 PM
did this guy just say "negote"?

Man what were the Jets thinking when they gave Pennington a 7 yr $64 million contract? I doubt he'll take too much of a re-structuring unless he really cares for the team and realizes that he hasn't actually earned any of that money the past two seasons.
2/14/2006 3:29:06 PM
They were thinking he wasn't going to injure his rotator cuff twice.
2/14/2006 4:37:30 PM
^ He never had that much talent to begin with. His arm strength was suspect and it wasn't like he was some dominate college football player with amazing abilities. They fucked up and they know it.

when is the earliest that a team can officially trade with another team?
2/14/2006 5:21:24 PM
this isnt really setting up a trade for rivers. it helps but the jets are in cap trouble anyway and need this to happen no matter what they do at qb. they dont want to pay pennington top dollar when is arm is torn up completely and may not have anything left in it.

IF Jets get Rivers, the Jets will have:P. RiversJ. CotcheryA. Maddox(with the 4th pick in the draft, maybe Mario Williams)Along with some other young promising tallent, like:J. VilmaM. Nugent[Edited on February 14, 2006 at 10:36 PM. Reason : Yes, I am a Jets fan]

Please Lets this Happen
2/14/2006 10:58:42 PM
Jesus christ no, don't let this happen. The Jets are the 2nd rate team in a 2nd rate market.
2/14/2006 11:27:53 PM
well if they trade Abrhams they do need a DE and Mario would fill that nicer than anyone else
2/15/2006 12:13:42 AM
there is an espn article that pretty much says...a) brees' injury is too bad, they will trade him and keep riversorb) they will keep brees and try to get the most money they can out of rivers.Seems as if rivers will go somewhere else, and if not he'll get some playing time as a starter
2/15/2006 12:23:15 AM
they will Rivers as leverage over Brees during his negotiations, so until Brees gets locked up, Phil isn't going anywhere

When did NY become a second-rate market?
2/15/2006 2:06:20 AM
I think 2nd rate team, in the NUMBER 1 market is more like it...
2/15/2006 9:15:30 AM

I realize how vague this may sound, but I read an article recently where an un-named Chargers official said that no matter how many rumors are floating around, Philip Rivers will be in San Diego in 2006.
2/15/2006 12:02:54 PM
2/15/2006 12:05:36 PM
yeah, but we all know that such official statements are nothing more than posturing.

it seems like the bolts really arent going to trade phil, as somebody else said they have been pretty adamant about not trading him. plus the financially it would be hard to work a deal to trade him
2/15/2006 2:49:47 PM
you are all a bunch of moronsrivers isn't going anywhere
2/15/2006 2:52:29 PM
Exactly, it is becoming clearer that the Chargers have ruined Rivers pro career and he will have a career more along the lines of Heath Shuler than one akin to Peyton Manning
