when my bf and i went there the other week there were people dressed up in many different ways...i was wearing jeans, a dressy sweater, and heels. he wore a short sleeved polo and jeans. some girls were wearing dressy halter tops and slacks or skirts...some were wearing fun dresses (but nothing fancy). i don't think i saw a single man wearing a tie there...mainly just collared shirts or a nice sweater with khakis or nice jeans (nothing hole-y). one man was even wearing a baseball cap.
2/14/2006 9:12:37 AM
aight, i'm gonna do a nice pair of khakis, button down shirt, and some nice shoes, i figured it might be a lil more dressy since it's valentine's day.

Porter's isn't fancy, it's pretentious. Dress how you want and try not to confuse the two.

Porters is great. It's the sort of place where you can be comfortable in everything from a rugby and jeans to a suit and tie.

wear a blazeryou're old and mature enough now such that wearing a blazer is appropriate for most situations--and where its seemingy not appropriate, no big deal.its always better to be slightly overdressed than slightly underdressed. always.[Edited on February 14, 2006 at 12:43 PM. The only time I've been there I wore a scarface tshirt, prolly would have felt out of place if I had any sense
2/14/2006 6:16:48 PM
wear whatever at porter's. but do eat the tempura green beans (appetizer) and the blue-cheese mac and cheese (side dish). the lamb is pretty good too.
2/14/2006 6:39:48 PM
if you can each get entree's an app and a beer each and your bill is under $100then they prob dont care how you dress
2/14/2006 7:30:21 PM
Wear a t-shirt and jeans. If anyone gives you shit, spit in their face.Seriously.
2/14/2006 7:37:11 PM
You all don't know shit about shrimp and grits
2/14/2006 8:51:13 PM
man, that food was good^^^ can't drink legally yet.
2/14/2006 10:30:28 PM
I'd feel a little out of place in a t-shirt, but anything beyond that and you're good. Jeans no problem. But, since you've apparently already gone, you know that now.

Shit, I wore a blazer to the saucer on monday.a blazer doesn't necessarily mean you're that dressed up. Also, Jay Davis carded me when I got there.
2/15/2006 9:43:14 AM
WAS JAY DAVIS WEARING A BLAZER?
