I felt I should make a public service announcement:

The Inter-Residence Council is holding an event in Talley... NOW (1pm Feb. 12). We have FREE FOOD and the game today on the big screen. It was on the front page of TWW a while ago, but it seems few people enjoy a free lunch here... it's quite odd I think. We also will be giving away a basketball signed by the whole team.

Come on out!

*Wasn't sure to put it in the Lounge or Sports Talk, move me if need be*

Not just pizza (Cheese, Pep., Sausage). We have about 1300 wings from Wingzone, HBQ, Mild, Hot, and Nuke. Farmhouse chicken fingers and veggie plates. There is still tons.

Why the hell don't you do this for a game that we can't all watch at home (i.e. ESPNU)?

ALWAYS has to be somebody that complains

Whoever submitted the story needed an improved tagline. I didn't see or read this because I thought it was a public service announcement. Should have been something like "Free Pizza/Wings/Veggies for GA Tech Game". Also learn to visually separate your elements, such as date/location/time. Basic visualization principles for web-type stuff and creating/posting flyers is important if you want to bring a crowd in. Also, generally nobody cares who is sponsoring it until they show up. Not saying mine is good, but here is an example that is extremely easy to scan/read: http://www.thewolfweb.com/story.aspx?story=927

Wish I was still in Raleigh, I'd be there and help claim leftovers. 1300 wings? Holy shit.

A complaint, yes. But a VERY valid complaint. The bars around here were PACKED last Wednesday for the ESPNU Miami game...Talley would've been also.

If people are going to waste money that pay for in student fees, then you damn right I am going to complain.

And what exactly is your answer to my complaint? Oh wait, you have none. (Therefore it must be pretty valid)

Heh, I'm working on a solution to the ESPN-U problem... I think you all will be happy with it once I go public. More to come later...

The reason why we chose this game was due to time, we had other events going on for other dates that would have been nicer. We had to work with what we had open. In the end over 200 people showed up, and we got the pep band. It wasn't bad, but the homeless shelter where we dropped off about 300-400 hotwings must have been happy afterwards.

Give the person some time. A lot of communications can be needed for the smallest of things. The person always may or may not know how to go about it. If you have something that could help them out, please contribute it.

We don't have any more games on the U this season anyway

so it's not like this is a huge priority at the moment.
