My sister is looking to join a local gym soon. She will be new to the area and asked me about it, but I don't know many students who fork out for a private gym membership who aren't way more serious than she would be. I think shes just looking for a cheap place for some after school cardio, maybe a class or something. Anything in west raleigh or the cary inbetween-lands is the right area, thanks for suggestions!

she could just get a membership at the ncsu gym

you can now get a membership if you share a household with a ncsu student

I have no idea of the quality, but I know of a place that sorta fits location-wise.

Theres some gym in Plaza West at the corner of Western & Jones Franklin.

This is the map to my apartment complex, but it covers the general area I'm talking about.

This might be it... got this from a triangle city search thing.

Does her apartment complex have any work out facilities... it might not be gym quality, but if they have anything, then they probably have cardio.

most gyms will make you sign rediculous contracts and then you only use a small portion of the facilities anyway. The apt. complex is a good idea, if they have it, and if the weather is nice, well, the outdoors are free.

the place mentioned in the third post is like 10 bucks a month, and i'm pretty sure youdon't need a contract (my bro was looking into it a while back when he lived near there)

I will have to check out the family member thing at NCSU gyms. that would really be the best.
