the latest project: essex chopped frame with caspian ss officers slide. a 1911 that fits in your back pocket. I should be done building in a month, then off to get hardchromed at tripp research. its damn cool to shoot stuff you have built, but it costs alot more than buying a ready made.

i thought you DIDNT need a FFL to have an sks?? anyone know for sure on this?
2/9/2006 7:31:46 PM
You have to buy it in person if you don't have an FFL. This goes for any gun.Yugos are C&R eligible, though.
2/9/2006 7:35:58 PM
not sure. I got mine more than 10 years ago
2/9/2006 7:36:12 PM
^^ if i buy one locally should i get some kind of paperwork showing where i got it?
2/9/2006 7:38:15 PM
You mean like a receipt? I'm not sure what you are asking. It's perfectly legal to own an SKS.
2/9/2006 7:40:42 PM
anyone got any leads on a M-14?
2/9/2006 10:38:00 PM
Guns are for pussies.
2/9/2006 10:57:50 PM
well duuuuh
2/9/2006 11:13:38 PM
What kind of M14?
2/9/2006 11:25:07 PM
You can get an M1A. There is no such thing as a civvy-legal milsurp M14, thanks to the NFA.
2/9/2006 11:38:47 PM
^Yes there is[Edited on February 9, 2006 at 11:52 PM. Reason : Well, not surplus, but there are real M14s out there]
2/9/2006 11:50:45 PM
I beleive there may be a few non restricted transfer class 3 m-14's out there that came in under the grace period, would not make any promises though. I have - 3X yugo sks20G New England single shot12G 870 ExpressSavage 30-06BSA stamped 22 bolt gun, no magazine feedproject gun: was an 8mm mauser with a shot out barrel, now has a match, adjustable, 3.0 lb trigger, has been fitted to a synth stock, and is fitted with a .308 heavy barrell(not a bull barrel, yet)Still need to ream chamber to length, and mount a scope, as well as bead blast+parkerize the whole gun.Have around 1500 rounds for the sks, not many for the '06 as i handload all my hunting amunition. Got a pile of hot laods right now i need to break down for parts, they hurt to shoot. Worked up to the max load on my data charts with a 168 gr sierra Matchking, load is acurate, but tends to HURT when fired, need to put a weight in the but of the stock when shooting heavy loaded stuff.

which AK is the best?yugo, romanian, etc...?[Edited on February 10, 2006 at 4:32 PM. Reason : wtf i need an ffl to buy an ak?]
2/10/2006 4:28:30 PM
^^^ I don't recall the brand, but the sight base (the rail that replaces the sight) warped. How a 3/4" piece of steel warped just sitting on the rifle, I will never know. It was nice when I installed it - it was in the case for a couple months, opened it up, and wtf. Also, the scope in the picture isn't the NC-star one. My mistake - that's a Bushnell that I put on there before I realized my eye can't be 10-12" away from it and still work :pThen again, the iron sights aren't that bad. Just keep in mind that when they were sighted in at the factory in mother Russia, it was done so with bayonet on. Thus, for 'best results', the bayonet should be on with iron sights.[Edited on February 10, 2006 at 4:36 PM. Reason : b]

that's right, post all your guns so every crook will know exactly who to rob.
2/10/2006 6:51:12 PM
how much would it cost to buy a nice condition scoped springfield?
2/10/2006 10:13:02 PM
depends on the springfield and the scope
2/10/2006 10:18:01 PM
I'd like to get to the firing range and learn guns, but right now Airsoft will have to do
2/10/2006 10:20:09 PM
well, if a crook can find where i store them in another county, break in, and break down 2 steel firedoors set in concrete walls, he can have the guns. Well, at least till i use the time he spends with a hammer to shoot him.
