Has anyone taken this class? If you have, how is his class? Are his tests hard, and how should you study for them? thanks for any help!

Hang on every word he says in class. Hope you took good notes. I got an A, but it took some serious listening- he's not the easiest to listen to. USE the study guide- it helps I know a lot of people who did not do well, but honestly, if you're there, do the reading and take notes you have a shot at getting a decent grade.[Edited on February 7, 2006 at 8:10 PM. I thoroughly unenjoyed the class. I ended up taking it credit only because I couldn't pay attention to him. It got to the point that I showed up to sleep, but the volume of his voice will change unexpectedly and it'd wake me up. After that I'd show up and sign the attendance and slip out when I felt that there were better things going on in the world. Like a homeless person yelling at a telephone pole.Regardless, people thought I was really smart because I talked all the time. THE FOOLS.

I took 321 with him...he is an interesting professor, but I did not learn anything. He was so excited about the content, that he would spout off on tangents and lose everyone as he was talking. I got a C and I also got "help" from him as well. The one on one sessions were the same as the class. I don't think he listens to ppl when they talk to him. One thing I did learn is that he is a catholic. [Edited on February 7, 2006 at 9:18 PM. Reason : ...]

I'm completely lost in there. I try to pay attention and take notes, but what on earth am I supposed to write down? when he goes off on tangents about eating children and sleeping with a sister, I never understand where he's goingaside from the study guide, any other tips for test prep?

yeah, this was by far one of the worst classes at ncsu that ive taken. I couldn't stand him in class - i couldnt pay attn to him and his stutter. outside of class he's very coool though - he really wants you to succeed. But for 205, you have to do all the reading yourself, develop opinions, and get good groups together with classmates. not saying that all that(^) is hard, but it would just be cool if I got something out of lectures. I got a solid B in the class that I sincerely earned. its a lot of time and work, but just make the reading interesting and youll be fine

Just pay attention to the study guide and READ THE MATERIAL CAREFULLY. He's doesn't throw any curve balls. Everything is very straight forward.
