i know this is a stupid questionis there any degree of waterproof for the shuffle?hell, could i wrap the sumbitch in ductape and take it in the pool?

umm... no. You'll have it figure out to keep the headphone port dry too.

no, the shuffle itself is not waterproof, but you can get cases for themhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00074Z9OQ/002-8935189-9584018?v=glance&n=172282my wife has one - it works well. She's never submerged it or anything, but the case seems quite tight. It has a solid rubber gasket all the way around and the hole at the top is pretty well sealed too. But i would still be wary about putting it in the pool (not to mention, you still have to have small electronic things stuck in your ears), but it should protect from slpashes, rain and stuff

i remember reading this is a move from Apple to phase out the shuffles. i believe later this year, the shuffles will be gone altogether making way for other low-end ipod models, the 1GB nano is just a teaser of what is to come. from a business standpoint they made an aweseom decision going with a low-end nano model since the nano seems to be the craze.
