I took his class. He gave us all of the info we needed to know for the exam when we had our review. Is he not doing that anymore?
2/7/2006 11:03:26 PM
I missed class because I was at the career fair. Did he give out any review sheet or go over anything in particular? Thanks
2/7/2006 11:26:21 PM
said to study 1-7, 9-12, 14, 15, 24, 25 from the exam 1 practice test
2/7/2006 11:29:18 PM
what chapters is test #3 on, is it just 9-11 or 13 also
4/5/2006 6:07:44 PM
just 9 - 11
4/5/2006 6:31:38 PM
I heard that the cash flow stuff from Ch 11 wasn't going to be on the test, is that true?
4/5/2006 7:02:03 PM
where did he stop exactly in the notes on tuesday
4/5/2006 7:16:00 PM
He finished Case #3 for depreciation.
4/5/2006 11:30:01 PM
does anyone have what he said will be on the final? I seem to have misplaced my notebook over the weekend...

5/1/2006 1:03:39 PM
anyone take his final before? just curious as to what they thought of it. the other tests werent so bad, and i was considering just studying those suckers and review over the topics he said... any other suggestions?
5/2/2006 5:48:04 PM
Sloan rocks.
5/2/2006 7:02:59 PM
is sloan gonna provide us the ratios for the final like he did with that attached sheet for the first test for the chapter 3 problems?
5/3/2006 2:30:28 PM
Yea Im pretty sure he said he would
5/3/2006 4:32:25 PM
yes indeed he is...said it last class
5/3/2006 5:18:53 PM
cool, so i guess he will provide all the ratios, including the ones that are used to get to the main answer. like when he gives us some info that you plug in to the other ratios to get the information to plug into the main ratio for the answer
5/3/2006 5:38:41 PM
also does he use the test questions for the exam? thanks
5/3/2006 7:36:20 PM
how is he going to get 9 questions from those class notes? there's like nothing thereand that sucks there's nothing from chapter 6, those were easy
5/3/2006 9:35:26 PM
go to hell with that bullshit, that test was way harder than the other 3
5/4/2006 2:46:59 PM
Fuck that shitthat was one of the hardest (due to being nothing like the other exams he gave) exams I've ever takenbut I'm still celebratin' cause that was the last final of my college career seriously the class average will be like a 60 at best, I was pulling my hair out on that thing
5/4/2006 4:00:06 PM
Glad to see everyone else felt the same way. That was definitely the hardest exam I have taken in the college of management. I'll be lucky if I got half the questions right.
5/4/2006 4:01:48 PM
^ You and everybody else...seriously it's the first exam I've ever taken where I felt the need to write "FUCK" on one of the pagesI'm a nice guy but that 'bout made me lose my religion...it's saying something when my 10-page *ALL ESSAY* BUS 474 logistics exam this morning was easier than this one...
5/4/2006 4:04:10 PM
Yeah, what the fuck was that?!??I completely screwed up on the bond shit.
5/4/2006 4:20:52 PM
i think his study guide was slightly misleading...but i expect a decent curve
5/4/2006 4:36:49 PM
yea the study guide was horrible and thinking thats what he would test us on thats all i followed. what a shitty random test
5/4/2006 5:00:57 PM
i thought it was pretty easy, but then again i studied all of the old tests and read the new chapters in the book...it was different than the study guides, but more than 1/2 of the questoins were on old exams
5/4/2006 9:38:59 PM
Don't worry.. I thought I bombed that final.. but ended up with a 90+ something or other. Granted, this was 2 or 3 years ago, but I felt the same way after the final and was fine.
5/4/2006 10:21:07 PM
Glad to see he didn't ease up from last semester. Cause, like SouthPaW, i was pulling hair and thinking WTF on every page.and from i remember, he didn't curve..either that or i did a lot worse than i thought
5/4/2006 11:11:08 PM
^I don't think he curved last semester as I had to re-take the class.....and did well on all the tests except the final! that was soooooooooooooooooooooooo hard......maybe if 20/30 questions weren't confusing definition problems!!!
5/5/2006 8:22:10 AM
Anyone know if his old tests are helpful? if so, anyone mind giving me whatever could be important , im taking the class next semester. After reading this, im already SCARED of taking his final !!
5/7/2006 4:53:30 AM
^yes his old tests are extremely helpful; although the definitions will not be the same but you can at least try to understand the concepts....actual problem questions are usually almost exactly the same with different numbers
5/7/2006 9:22:15 AM
I'm still pissed off at this final.
5/8/2006 1:21:17 PM
Grades are up in the 'past grades' section. I got a B in the class, so he must have curved the exam. Will be interesting to see what I got on the final.
5/8/2006 6:47:21 PM
B here too, interested to see final grade as well. I don't have a clue how i did
5/8/2006 6:48:24 PM
Definitely curved the hell out of that exam.. I had an 80 on two tests, and a 72 on the other one... and I went through and did the problems I knew for sure on the final -- 16 out of the 33.. and somehow I got a B in the class, wow. I was expecting a C- at best
5/8/2006 7:05:25 PM
Sloan has some explaining to doI got a 91, 92, and 88 (argued about 1 question I had right but he said he was wrong and told me to my face "it wouldn't effect my grade", so basically that should've been a 92 on that 3rd exam.I know I made at least a 65-70 on the final, and got a B. No way someone sittin' on an A before any curve drops down past A-, B+, and gets a B. Especially when ^ here scrapes by on 80s all semester and somehow gets a B.That bastard has some changing to do.[Edited on May 8, 2006 at 9:34 PM. Reason : .]
5/8/2006 9:34:09 PM
B as well... i woulda hoped for something better considering i aced the first three. guess i bombed the hell out of the exam. but hey, you live and learn.
5/8/2006 10:12:57 PM
ok so he must not give +/-
5/9/2006 2:00:56 AM
^ Nope. My pal got a B+ in this class this semester.
5/9/2006 2:01:22 AM
58 on the final...so yeah, B makes sense
5/9/2006 6:20:02 AM
Well I just found out I got a 74 on the final, so let's do some quick math:(91 + 92 + 88 + 74)/86.25 pre-curvedIf he curved AT ALL, I get a B+. If he curved like any normal teacher, I got an A-. Regardless, he's gonna see my face and soon.
5/9/2006 9:52:49 AM
5/9/2006 6:50:51 PM
^ where did you find this response from Mr. Sloan?
5/9/2006 7:31:49 PM
^ He emailed it out, but I've found only ~50% of students actually got it. I know for a fact I didn't.
5/9/2006 7:35:05 PM
I didn't get it. Don't think it's going to affect me anyway.
5/9/2006 7:35:48 PM
i dropped my 3rd exam grade w/ the final, so i'm unaffected...sucks b/c my final average was 86.5 and he gave me a B my friend got a 101 on the final and pulled her grade up to A+ (fucking whore)
5/9/2006 7:45:21 PM
he switched my grade to a B+ after the so called mess-up...what a nice teacher he is...honestly, he's great
5/10/2006 8:20:54 AM
^ Has it shown up in TRACS?
