these pics for the 360 look like shit, must be some shitty quality but there's cam and bethel...
2/6/2006 3:06:11 PM
holy wow that looks like PS2 or something
2/6/2006 3:09:26 PM
There are so many players in college basketball that you can tell they didn't exactly put quality into all of them. Not one player in those pictures looks accurate to any of our players. In that one picture I thought Bethel was Simmons until I saw it was 22 not 33.
2/6/2006 3:12:28 PM
College Hoops still>>>>>>March Madness
2/6/2006 4:11:50 PM
those shots are really ugly
2/6/2006 4:12:49 PM
Since the real names are in the game (even Braxton!), even though you have to put them in manually, they can't make the likenesses too good or there will be compliance issues.
2/6/2006 4:17:10 PM
^then they arent "in the game"you have to enter them manually.LOL, dumbass.
2/6/2006 4:18:05 PM
JJ looks like a fag like he does in real with his undershirt.
2/6/2006 4:19:20 PM
And once you enter them manually, they magically correspond to audio files that just happen to contain every major player in the NCAA.Just in case someone wants to create a player named Akingbala Albritton.[Edited on February 6, 2006 at 4:21 PM. Reason : g]
2/6/2006 4:21:27 PM
^^^ Uh, they are in the game dumbass. There's a database with all the players names and you just designate which are which. They announcers say their name, so they're in the game. Try not to crack on a game you obviously haven't played.^^^^ and the issue isn't all likeliness...those graphics blow and I was really hoping for better graphics from College Hoops with the next gen systems...[Edited on February 6, 2006 at 4:22 PM. Reason : beat me to it]
2/6/2006 4:21:46 PM
BTW, I like how Panthro's other thread is bitching about our roster being screwed up on March Madness...meanwhile, in College Hoops land, all our players including the walk-ons are included by name (other than Chris McCoy, who I had to add because he took that semester off).
2/6/2006 4:28:37 PM
Further proof that he's a douche.
2/6/2006 4:35:41 PM
so this game comes out tuesday. i think ill be picking it up and winning a game for once with ncsu. i like how you can play all the individual tournaments too besides the ncaa's...like the conference tournaments and shit.
3/5/2006 3:35:45 PM
^Yeah that features in March Madness as well.
3/5/2006 5:47:07 PM
which game would yall recommend more, march madness 2006 or college hoops? I have ps2.
3/5/2006 6:22:16 PM
College Hoops>>>>>>>>>>>>March Madness.Arenas and players are way more realistic. MM can't even get Evtimov and Atsur white. 2k actually does a good job with ratings and whatnot.
3/5/2006 6:51:52 PM
they look like ghosts
3/5/2006 7:26:04 PM
College Hoops and NBA 2K# have been better than EA's product since they came out in 2000 or wheneverEA holds it down in football and golf...ESPN holds it down with basketball games
3/5/2006 8:18:47 PM
nba street owns nba 2k_
3/5/2006 8:45:32 PM
not from a realistic simulation 5-on-5 basketball with rules perspectivethats like saying blitz pwns madden
3/5/2006 8:50:04 PM
3/5/2006 9:09:03 PM
if the rules of organized basketball constrain you i guess[Edited on March 5, 2006 at 9:16 PM. Reason : r whoops]
3/5/2006 9:12:18 PM
constain?AND I SAID IT IS A MORE FUN GAME I DIDN"T SAY SHIT ABOUT THE RULES OF BASKETBALL.[Edited on March 5, 2006 at 9:17 PM. Reason : SFD]
3/5/2006 9:15:38 PM
well I think 2K is better overallhell it has the 24/7 mode built into the game and the 5-on-5 real basketball is definitely better
3/5/2006 9:18:16 PM
street's fun for about 15 minutes, then i get tired of double gamebreaking everyone
3/5/2006 9:26:37 PM
easy, play better people.
3/5/2006 9:29:28 PM
or play a better basketball game like 2K
3/5/2006 9:30:31 PM
or play a more fun game like nba street v3
3/5/2006 9:32:51 PM
or learn the rules of basketball so you can play a real basketball game instead of NBA Jam 2006 versionthen go destroy your Madden games for NFL Blitz and NFL Street
3/5/2006 9:34:27 PM
or play both???
3/5/2006 9:35:15 PM
the 24/7 mode thats builtin to 2K is plenty good
3/5/2006 9:36:57 PM
I love how you can't comprehend how someone prefers and arcade game over a simulation game. it has nothing to do with not knowing the rules of basketball.I guess America's Army is a better shooter than Halo, because Halo isn't realistic enough.and I prefer Madden over Blitz, for the record.[Edited on March 5, 2006 at 9:47 PM. Reason : f]
3/5/2006 9:46:28 PM
ive owned nba street and played all those games that arent realistic or sim or whatever you wanna call it. they are fun for awhile but then it gets old.
3/5/2006 9:59:21 PM
I guess WILSON is a major sponsor
3/5/2006 10:21:04 PM
those screenshots look freakin terrible
3/5/2006 11:01:18 PM
^^yeah, I noticed how the ball is aligned at the exact same angle in each picture. Good product placement I guess.Too bad they didn't put that much care into making the rest of the game look real.
3/6/2006 12:11:44 AM
well these screenshots are old, check out game websites and see new ones. look when the original post was...itll look exactly like nba 2k6 basically.
3/6/2006 12:57:53 AM
It just looks doubly weird that the ball reflects light and the players (or their jerseys) don't.
3/6/2006 2:43:51 AM
ill be picking this up at eb tomorrow
3/7/2006 12:03:15 AM
this game is awesome. we put in all the names for all the teams in the acc. all the names are already in the game so they say "evitov shoots a 3" and "atsur makes a layup." good stuff...
3/7/2006 9:55:55 PM
"evitov shoots a 3" -- just like watching a game"atsur makes a layup." -- more like "atsur throws up a dead fish"
3/7/2006 10:02:59 PM
This thread inspired me to return to my legacy (PS2).Boise State is kicking some ass!
3/7/2006 10:57:17 PM
^^i was just using those as examples of my point...that they have all players names in the game and they say them. good job 2k sports.
3/8/2006 12:10:29 AM
i like how one of the announcers says our team's style is enjoyable to watch right before the game tip-offs, i was like wtf???
3/8/2006 12:14:41 AM
so are the graphics better than the shitty ones in the OP, hows the gameplay?
3/8/2006 12:29:55 AM
looks like nba 2k6 on 360. the player models are whats lacking, they are generic, and dont look all that good close up. the jerseys and sweat looks good just like nba 2k6, but the hair and faces arent all that great. the gameplay is more open than nba 2k6, more 3's, more plays, etc. i like it...its fun to just play the ncaa tournament or just the acc tournament.btw, it has conference tourneys for all the conferences. [Edited on March 8, 2006 at 12:38 AM. Reason : yea]
3/8/2006 12:37:39 AM
I never quite understood the fascination with screen shots like these for bb and fb games. It's not like you play the game with that camera angle. I'm glad you can see sweat and the players blink but that doesn't matter when you are zoomed out to the point where each character model isn't big enough to see those things while you are playing.BTW. That isn't light reflected off the ball - or at least I don't think it is because the light reflection is in the exact same place in each of those shots. Leads me to think it is just the way they painted the bb skin.[Edited on March 8, 2006 at 10:00 AM. Reason : -]
3/8/2006 9:55:22 AM
Can I get an actual impression of this game besides the graphics? I know it is basically a port of the PS2 version, but I'm interested in whether or not they improved the controls like they claimed, and if they had to leave anything out for the 360.
3/8/2006 10:35:17 AM
is billy packer in the game?does he come up with one point to make early in the 1st half and then stick with it through the whole game?
3/8/2006 10:49:41 AM
Haha. From what I've heard its the same as the old version.
