the thing that's memorable about this SuperBowl will rest 100% on "the tackle" that got the first team to ever come in as a 6th seed into the SuperBowl in a 3-game road trip

lemme get this straight

a super bowl with

  • the super bow's longest rushing touchdown
  • the super bowl's longest interception return
  • a touchdown thrown on a trick reverse play
  • an actual game going into the 4th quarter
  • the coronation of a new star, and the retirement of an old one
  • and one of the most respected coach's ever getting his championship
isn't going to be remembered in the morning

i guess you guys didn't like it cause it wasn't won on a field goal...

XXXVIII was a good one

i mean, my panthers lost, but i just can't deny that it was a hell of a game (the 4th quarter the best ever)

As sad as it is, the most "memorable" ones are the ones that are won/lost in the final seconds or the last play of the game. This one may be "historic", but not quite as "memorable" in terms of being able to say "Oh yeah, that was the SuperBowl where "x" got that last second "x" to win/lose it..."

for me personally, with the two weeks of fellatio that is dedicated to the superbowl, anything less than a game winning drive with time expiring is disappointing. i guess i've been spoiled by the recent pats-cats and pats-rams superbowls, so being enamored about a game where i don't care about either team requires some last minute excitement

1. fuck any super bowl won by the patriots
2. unless a "more-than-5-plays-a-game" player has set up the field goal with some amazing feat, fuck any super bowl won by a kicker

i agree fuck the patriots, and my preference only applies to teams i don't care about. if i'm gonna watch the damn thing, i at least want some last second excitement

theres nothin better than a good low scoring game

unless its due to sloppiness and not stout defense

^^ i never said i had to be pleased with the outcome. but any team driving with a chance to win is exciting. it would've been even better if it had been blocked or missed or fumbled. i mean the mere emotion of being pissed off about a game i don't care about is better than not caring at all. just my opinion

the bus retiring is the only great story coming out of this superbowl really

the halftime show was blah, the game was pretty blah

i didnt even think the hype was all that great leading INTO the superbowl

people always expect greatness out of the SB, but rarely get it...

the stat about no team coming back from 10 or 11 points down doesn't surprise me, you hype yourself up for the biggest game of the year and then you fall down by 2 scores and suddenly people start to get that hopeless look in their eyes, it's like building yourself up for weeks to go to disneyworld only to get there and half of the rides are closed for repair, sure there's a lot of chance to have a great time but you're focusing so intently on what you can't do that it makes the trip seem depressing...

I think that if Seattle wouldn't have mismanaged the end of the game, and kicked that FG to set up an onside kick situation, it woulda been more exciting

It was a shitty superbowl.

Seattle played to lose and Pittsburgh cruised to victory.

Commercials were ass too.

At least the puppy bowl was a clincher.
