I need new tires (195-60-15 H) and have been looking on tirerack.com. Cost is a priority since I don't feel like shelling out the $$$$ for superawesome tires again.

I was looking at the Kumho Solus KH16's vs BF Goodrich tires at Costco.

Kumho's are $51.89/tire (incl s/h). I believe BFG's are ~$70 incl. everything except alignment PLUS a $60 instant discount.

I haven't used Kumho Solus' or BFG's on any car, so I'm looking for input/feedback.

Any advice?

I have bfg's kdws on the back of my car and kumhos ecstas? on the front. The kumhos don't hold air well and they don't last as long. Im gonna replace the kumhos sometime soon - they suck

tirerack is good pricing, but shipping is what will make it $$.

goto walmart, or some cheap tire places around here.

or if you want a littler pricier, then goto discount tire or just tires and just do some price matching.

I've got some cooper cobras on my truck and they were pretty inexpensive. I got pretty damn good usage out of them too. I got about 45000 miles out of them. Granted I could rotate them b/c I was dumbass when I lowered my truck. I bought 2 different size wheels. Also I still have the same rears on there. I was going to replace them all but then the mechanic was like "you're back tires still have atleast 20,000 miles left" so I saved

i heard that BFG's are ass and that's all that costco sells as their value line.

i got 4 Goodyear Eagle GT-HR's at discount tire for $314. it's not the best deal i could have gotten, but it def. isn't the worst.

i dunno if they are any good yet. for some reason, i feel as though the kumho's (if they had been in stock) would have been a better investment. we'll see though, i've got a week to try them out. they are nice so far. except when turning, they make a thunka-thunka noise. i haven't quite figured it out yet, but i'm running them pretty hard to break them in, so hopefully the noise goes away.

i've always got the kumho solus kh16's or HP4 716's to fall back on though.

I just ordered 4 Kumho ECSTA ASX for the Mark VIII, $390 installed. Decent reviews on Tire Rack and from a couple of folks on the Lincoln boards, we'll see how they do. I was going to go with Bridgestone Tuaranza LS-V's, but couldn't justify spending almost twice as much ($135 each vs. $70 each). The main knock on the Kumhos seemed to be treadlife, and I don't drive enough (average *maybe* 10K a year) to let that stop me.

In that case, my choice leans on the good word of a couple VIII owners over at http://www.fordvschevy.com. I'm okay with that.

Update, the goodyear eagle gt-hr's are quiet and takes potholes really well.

We'll see how quiet they are in about 10k.
