Which do you think is better? Which is more exciting? Which has the best fans, stadiums, and atmospheres?I like college football better. The stadiums usually aren't ultra nice like a lot of the NFL stadiums. When it comes to dedication of the fans I think college football gets the edge. The NFL has only a few teams that trump most college teams in terms of fans (Cleveland, Green Bay, KC, etc.). Also college fans seem louder. Note, this isn't supposed to be an argument on the quality of play. NFL would be the obvious choice. They're the professionals for a reason.

this is a brand new groundbreaking argumenti dont think i've ever read about this standpoint on professional versus college sports ever in my 22 years of life[Edited on February 4, 2006 at 6:25 PM. Reason : ]

Hey, it's a good topic.College football all the way. Because usually your bias towards your school is even strongly than that of "your town" or whatever.College players still have more passion than pros.
2/4/2006 6:27:04 PM
NFL. College doesn't have playoffs.
2/4/2006 6:28:10 PM
NCAA by leaps and bounds, football and basketball.
2/4/2006 6:29:21 PM
Yeah I know the argument has happened in threads before, but I couldn't find a thread devoted to this argument.
2/4/2006 6:31:16 PM
I hate the whole "college players have more passion" argument...people let the actions of a Randy Moss and a Terrell Owens skew the drive that most players have, basing it on theyre all about the moneyHell, sometimes I think TO has a hellacious drive, he wants to win so bad that when he's losing he'll bring down a whole team
2/4/2006 6:32:52 PM
I think the thing with T.O. is that his want to win is so high, and the fact that he knows he can make plays is why he has conflicts with some of his teammates. He figures hey get me the ball, I can win this for us. It's kind of like if the Bulls had not gone to Jordan that much, then he'd probably be pissed too. I think T.O. though does have some ego problems, but then again most big time playmakers do. Usually that's due to everyone telling them how great they are.[Edited on February 4, 2006 at 6:39 PM. ncaa basketball > (nba)(14,000,000,000)ncaa football = nfl
2/4/2006 6:39:31 PM
nfl has a better product, but it's harder to get excited about teams that change and trade personnel so often.
2/4/2006 6:46:25 PM
Ummm....nah J_hova, wrong angle.TO and Moss have passion. I'm talking about the LACK of passion. The guys who don't care if they win or lose b/c they're still going home to their million-dollar mansions afterwards anyway. There's really not as much to play for.
2/4/2006 6:53:29 PM
i would say ncaa crowds seem louder due to the fact that many stadiums seat 100,000+thats not really fairwhy the fuck dont they build nfl stadiums like that?

im sure he was lyinghow many people sit in Seattle's stadiumi'm told they get pretty loud too
2/4/2006 7:22:12 PM
Qwest Field seats 67,000. They have the luxury of having a partial roof structure, though. Washington's Husky Stadium seats 72,000, and has a roof as well.

2/4/2006 7:43:23 PM
the NFL is the better organizationbut the NCAA can be a better experienceuntil the playoffs start
2/4/2006 7:44:25 PM
personally it has to do with what you can be involved with more. growing up with no quality college football games to go to (being around Vandy and hating Tennessee), I watched more NFL. with a good college football atmosphere to be in, and I consider NC State just that because I always have fun at games, I am able to not only have the excitement of being around a team, but I also enjoy watching other games on TV too.
2/4/2006 8:30:59 PM
i think that CF has been about 106 dB
2/4/2006 8:31:52 PM
^ you'd be correct. that is the record. there have been probably countless other times were it probably went higher, but they didn't have that little decibel meter on. one time that comes to mind is this years UNC game. I was at the second row from the top of the upper deck and i was amazed at how loud the crowd got during one third down. it had to have broken the record.

In fact, it is. Furthermore, you know that every player is pretty much stuck with 1 team for their career. They might even like the school they are playing for.Of course, you completely ignore the trading issue, too.But I fully expect that someone as dumb as you would keep pretending that personal ties and loyalty isn't a factor in college sports.
2/4/2006 9:26:56 PM
I like, college
2/4/2006 10:20:54 PM
there's just something about all of the tradition and the bands that go along with college football that make me like it more. i hope the Panthers are able to continue having good seasons, so that they'll secure more fans.
