Anyone live or lived there? If so, did you like it? How was the managament? And is there a lot of noise there? A friend and I are looking into a place there and need to sign by next week-so I'm looking for opinions and anything else you want to offer about it.

Preiss SEEMS to be a nice company-although I am not familiar with them. I met and talked with a couple of their properties managers and they were really nice and helpful and the people coming to pay rent were nice and said good things about them. One of the managers at one particular place was hinting to me that although dogs werent allowed that "you can walk them when she's not there, fence them into a bathroom or kitchen, and she would let you know her hours, etc.." But, what about Preiss?

you deserve preiss
2/4/2006 12:54:53 AM
What is that supposed to mean?

I have seen some, but most were pretty neutral about them. And were dependent on the managers.[Edited on February 4, 2006 at 1:00 AM. Reason : were]

^ alright. I'll stfu. Go sign your lease with them.
2/4/2006 1:05:37 AM
^The second one is from 2003. And the first one is bitching about the company having permission to show your house-which-i'm sure is in the lease. And I have found some positive stuff.--Anyway, I am just asking about this particular place-currently. Noise, managers, how nice the homes are as a whole... Not how you were screwed out of money.

seriously, they tried to warn youyou deserve preiss
2/4/2006 2:50:55 AM
the best part is how this bitch acts all uppity when people tell her what she doesn't want to hear. It's obvious she has already made up her mind and has come on here to engage in some idiot histrionics
2/4/2006 3:42:46 AM
My ex-gf used to live there. Even though Preiss gets lots of hate, they actually treated her pretty well and she didn't have many complaints. They weren't that strict about pets. She had to move out of the townhome before her lease expired though, and I think that they only made her pay half of the rest of it. The Method Townhomes area is right next to a kind of run down area though, there were some crackhouses a few streets down, but I don't recall any of the crackheads wondering into the area.

from what i heard there are a ton of sketch ass black people on methodi've lived in the ghetto and its not fun
2/4/2006 7:48:47 AM
It is in the middle of the ghetto. My sister lived out there for a year, and she and her roommates hated it. They just never felt safe. There were always thugged out 15 year old kids walking around in packs looking into cars and shit, obviously scoping out the place.I lived off of method road as well (stedman dr), and our house was broken into and robbed. So, even if Preiss isn't enough of a deterrent, being robbed or raped hopefully would be.

Ya'll a bunch of scared ass crackas. I've lived in method for 4 years without a problem.I don't know anything about Preiss, other than what people tell me.(which isn't good, but what do you expect, they're landlords)
2/4/2006 12:11:17 PM
you deserve preiss-ZiP!-
2/4/2006 12:28:10 PM
Thanks Pyro, BobbyDigital, drunknloaded, and Wraith!...you're the only ones who answered the question. The roommate and I have already discussed some other options besides Preiss and this one is the only one of theirs that we are even halfway considering-so I didn't want a bunch of junk about Preiss-we've heard all we need to about them.

Interesting note, Method is a very old community. It started as a village for former slaves of the (now Meredith College) slave plantation after emancipation. It was originally called Mason's Village after the dude that bought the land. There's a very old cemetary on the other side of that tunnel. The Barry O'Kelly school(now a civic center) was the first accredited black high school in NC.It's biggest assets now include two churches, a mosque/community center, 3 grocery stores(asian, mideastern and food lion) and a big lots, all in easy walking distance. There's a police department substation in the office park directly across the beltline. Between them and bored campus police, it's actually one of the most well patrolled areas of raleigh. Cops come out of that tunnel about every 30 minutes.Traffic's a bitch on Fridays(mosque). It's like a weekly taxi driver convention.[Edited on February 4, 2006 at 1:17 PM. Well, honestly, I've never seen a good Friday in Raleigh for traffic in the 2 years I've lived here! Thank you though, that is interesting-and the cop thing is a definite plus - IF we decide to deal with Preiss.[Edited on February 4, 2006 at 1:19 PM. Reason : m]

If I remember correctly, the kitchens there are huge - unfortunately, that leaves no space in the living room. My old roommate and I looked there, but wound up living at their other townhome community (Red Wolf Crossing) for 2 years (they improved on the downstairs living space). We had no complaints about Preiss during that time - plenty of folks had cats/dogs and no one seemed to care.
2/4/2006 3:30:29 PM
We walked through one last week, the living room was pretty small. But the lady told us that Red Wolf Crossing was the exact set up as far as the inside. I forgot what the cost difference was for the two though... Thanks though!
2/4/2006 3:42:15 PM
my roommates and i went and looked at them last year, we wanted to see a 3 bedroom, and when the lady finally met us there, 20 minutes late, she showed us a 2 bedroom that someone lived in and you could barely walk in it because it was so dirty. that shows they care.
2/4/2006 3:50:27 PM
^^it is the same setup, but the room size is different, I can guarantee you that. The living room is quite a bit larger at Red Wolf.
2/4/2006 4:28:01 PM
^Cool, I wasn't aware of that! Thanks!
