Anybody have anything new / badass that they're into using now? I'm on the verge of buying a stupid overpriced Electro-Harmonix POG and was wondering what everybody on here is playing with these days.

Electro-Harmonix has some badass pedalsThe Electric Mistress filter unit and the Micro Synthesizer are sweet. The micro synth even has a filter and LFO. I've been considering buying the Bass Micro Synthesizer, I don't know if I could settle with an SYB-3 than that after hearing the Electro-Harmonix.

To be quite honest, E-H makes no effect more insane than the 16-Second Delay with the foot controller. The Graphic Fuzz is pretty wild, though.

I heard like ^ said . Well, i want this one http://www.music123.com/Moog-MF102-i91047.music at this moment

^ Have one. Awesome on drum machines, frustratingly impratical on guitar, though it works pretty well as a non-rhythmic tremelo.

How odd. vinylbandit and I had an extended discussion about that pedal last night.

V-amp. For the 100$ I spent on it, it's been the most badass amp modeler I've ever used. It has a bit less functionality than the 350$ POD but for the price it can't be beat.BOSS makes some pretty snazzy effects as well.

My BOSS digital 8 has the COSM amp modeller thing. I prefer using the real thing, but my shit is broken right now and I can try a shitload of varied, if fake, sounds with guitar->864->keyboard amp.I need to get my damn amp fixed

a good tubescreamer and a tube amp on 10 is all you need.

i'm getting pretty good at my PODXT.i definitely see what some people don't like about them.. but if you have any attention span at all.. you can do some pretty cool stuff with it

^i'm picking up a Bass PODXT Live next week...ima use it as a preamp straight into a power ampi've played the non-live (bean) version and i was very impressed

I never did end up getting that POG.My bank account thanks me every day.

my roommate got one of those Danelectro fab-tone thangs but didnt like it b/c it was too nasty. So i bought it for 25 bucks. Plug a bass into that thing and its game over.
5/4/2006 11:55:13 AM
Those Dano things are tanks. The delay wasn't true bypass and always leaked a little bit of the effect, so I stopped using it, but it came in handy when I had to knock out a drunk guy once.

anyone know much about reverb pedals? i'm getting a 100-watt jcm 800 soon, but i tend to use a lot of reverb, and those things are stripped down as fuck. holy grail?
5/4/2006 12:07:56 PM
Holy grail is the best you're gonna get without an actual Fender reverb tank or a spring-based pedal. The big Danelectro one is nice if you think you'll use the kick/CRASH plate.
5/4/2006 12:09:39 PM
I've got a good Fender reverb.IN MY BROKEN AMP THAT WILL NEVER GET FIXED EVER.
5/4/2006 12:15:55 PM
^^ I have the holier grail reverb, and I like it. EH pedals are a bit finicky sometimes though, I've gone through a couple. Latest pedal I'm geeking out over is the Z-Vex Wah Probe II. It's the cleanest sounding wah I've ever heard and has no moving parts (!). That's the newest addition to my rig. Check it out of you get a chance.

i'm still loving my Line 6 Bass POD Xt Liveit does everything, and it sounds awesomei know alot of people look down on digital modeling, but this puppy is the real deal. i seriously doubt anyone could tell the difference between the Mesa/Boogie 400+ model on this and an actual mic'd 400+. It's unreal. The Bassman, GK 800RB, Aguilar DB750, SWR 550, and Eden WT 330 are some of the best models on this thing...the GK especially. It totally nails the metallic solid-state drive.the effects are excellent IMO. I a/b'd an actual Ibanez TS808 Tubescreamer and a TS9-DX against the tubescreamer model on the POD, and the POD is spot-on. The Sansamp driver model doesnt replicate the sound exactly, but it's not a bad thing. Exact replication isnt what you always want, ya know? It's nice having a couple of different chorus's to choose from...the digital chorus is very clean, and the analog chorus has a nice amount of grit in the tone. Lots and lots of effects in this thing: chorus's, phaser, flangers, delays (normal, reverse, sweep, digital, analog, multihead, etc....with a tap tempo for all of them), several distortions, fuzz boxes, an Octavia, a built in wah pedal, an autowah, a six band semi-parametric EQ, compressors, reverbs, and synths (and i've left somethings out). It's awesome for practicing with headphones or recording straight into a computer via USB.i cant say enough good things about the POD

im thinking about selling my digitech RPx400 multi fx pedal + 4chan USB recording interface. its pretty cool and allows you to play/record and then stop, rewind, new track over the old track all w/ the foot pedals. really handy for writing songs w/o any fuss.full amp modelling jive, amps, eqs, cabs, mics, mic placement, etc. http://www.zzounds.com/item--DGTRPX400
