I learned after my first semester that I was not a night person. All those days of getting up in middle school and high school going to horse shows at the crack of dawn made me a morning person. So, when I got tired, I went to sleep (usually 10 or 11) and then set the alarm for whatever time I needed. I could get up at 3, 4, sometimes even 2 am. and then study. If I got my studying done, I got to take another cat nap before getting up. It was much easier for me to get up rather than stay up.

Sometimes, to extend my time up in the evening, I would make myself sit on a hard floor, make myself as uncomfortable as possible (no nice big comfy chairs) and still able to study functionally and that would help a little.

yeah i tend to do better in the morning as well, but during winter, when its cold (and inside wolf village is cold),
i just can't come out from under the covers. i tried waking up at 4am and studying in bed so i won't be cold....it didn't quite work. But in general if the temperature in my room is right I am mostly a morning person as well.
Thanks for your help and advice.

Oh and how do you know me SHARRAMI? Are you Rami? help me out here

And to answer the AFGASN, I speak Farsi (Persian) and Arabic.

i used to push myself to study for everything... but learned i did better if i gave up on studying and just slept when i really needed to. if you've gone to classes and done the homework, then sometimes a rested mind can give you more access to that information than a worn out one that has studied more.

indeed. at the end of last semester, b/c i had slacked off, i had 7 minor papers to write.
what i ended up doing was writing one and doing the draft of another, drinking a bunch of water, and then taking an hour nap. repeat until coursework is done

as far as studying when sleepy...i figure if i'm sleepy enough to have trouble staying awake when i want to, then any information i take in while studying will be, for the most part, useless. you end up wasting time, AND not learning what you wanted to. hopefully, you haven't waited til the last minute to study
without sleep, the chances of fucking up things you do know are greater, and then you'll be quite upset with yourself.

i sure hope you're napping right now.

You should have taken BCH 451 over the summer, solely, that course. It would have eased the pressure.

IF YOU STUDY THE NIGHT BEFORE

AND ARE OVERWELMED

YOU ARE ONE OF TWO THINGS

ONE) IN ECE302

or

There is a simple formula for staying awake. You can go without food or sleep, but not both. I find that when your low on one, you have to make up the difference with the other. i.e. If you need to stay awake, you pretty much have to start eating constantly to keep your head clear.

Hahahaha I just saw this thread, my week has been hell too. Yesterday, the only food I had for the day was a bowl of cereal at 8am and a chicken pot pie at around 10pm. This morning I had a bowl of cereal at 7 and am currently eating my lunch of the day. And dammit I still have a whole assignment left to do. I have pretty much reached the point where everything is funny.
