Limited connection or no connection is the error message that I am getting on my laptop when hook my switch up to my router. I am trying to put my Xbox 360 and my laptop on the switch. I have tried searching googling, and I must be using good enough key words or phrases, because I have found nothing. Please help. Thanks.

I am using a linksys router and switch. nothing is wrong with my connection, I suppose, since I am posting here no, but I only get this error message if, and when I plug the ethernet cord coming from the router into the switch.Synapse, no, that did not work.

first... try reading what you're typed before you post the messages on here, words are missing and it's making it pretty hard to understand youdo both the router and switch have auto-sensing ports or is there a specific port you should be using as an uplink? or, do you not know?

Post the EXACT model number of the router and switch and that will help some of us out.If you have the router and switch plugged into the same power strip, cut the power to the power strip, then turn the strip back on. Fixes things quite a lot.
