1/27/2006 6:32:20 PM
nah...apparently about a high school kid who stumbles into some sort of crime ring. an interesting premise, and apparently it was shown in a few film festivals and won an award at sundance

I wish it was about Brick Tamland
4/1/2006 2:24:13 PM
^^ Your posts just fucking baffle me sometimes.
4/1/2006 6:09:27 PM
why?
4/1/2006 7:15:17 PM
It's just never seemed that difficult to me for a person to use the internet to look up movie release dates for sometihng he or she is really interested in. And, even if you couldn't do that, you could just look at the paper once a week (or even once every two weeks--rare indeed is the movie that only plays for a single week). And, even if you couldn't do that, and you missed a movie, and you were upset about missing it, it's just really strange that the movie would be, of all the movies that are released every year in the triangle, Wonderland.I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it. I'm saying that it baffles me.[Edited on April 1, 2006 at 7:57 PM. Reason : yep]

The trailer was awesome. It's making it's limited release today, and then expanding if Focus feel it can pull. It's been getting fantastic reviews. Film noir set in a modern California high school... Almost sounds like it wouldn't work, but apparently it does. I want to see it for myself, but it's not playing around here yet. (I'd go just for the dialogue. How cool is that?
4/7/2006 7:10:46 PM
There's a mountain of films whose biggest redeeming quality is the dialogue. I don't see how this film is any different.
4/7/2006 7:40:33 PM
It looks good anyway, to me. I liked the images I saw. It seems like a good translation of the noir genre, though my knowledge doesn't go very deep.
4/7/2006 7:46:45 PM
I'm not saying it doesn't look good. I definitely want to see it. I just thought that was a very odd thing to say.
4/7/2006 7:49:49 PM
Oh, I think I see where you're coming from. Admittedly, I am a sucker for stylized dialogue across the board, though while that can be enjoyable, it doesn't necessarily have to make the movie "good."
4/7/2006 8:22:29 PM
someone please tell me why it's not out in wide release yet?
4/10/2006 3:26:34 PM
Because it went limited release on Friday and distributors generally wait for more than 72 hours to push a film to wide release.
4/10/2006 4:05:06 PM
It's looking like this is gonna hit NC in late May or early June.In case anybody cares.

Geeze I got so tired of seeing the preview for this movie on so many of the movie DVDs we watched over the period of a month or two. We'll likely rent it when it's out on DVD but there's no way I'm seeing it in the theater.
