Thought so.My main prob is that it doesn't keep the answers you had right on the first submission so you have to go back and answer everything again. Pain in the ass especially when you guessed and you don't remember what you guessed.
1/26/2006 6:41:02 PM
and you can't just go back and write down that you had "Question 1 : A. , Question 2: B, Question 3: C,....." Because the answers are jumbled after each submission... It's just a pain in the ass and makes the homework 10X harder than it needs to be.[Edited on January 26, 2006 at 6:49 PM. Reason : hate it]
1/26/2006 6:44:59 PM
heaven forbid you can't guess til you get em right....who would have thought you actually need to know the right answer to do hw...

I don't think Vista sucks, I think it's great software that aids in online instruction.

1/26/2006 7:07:54 PM
WebCT (normal) was and is miles better and more simplified than Vista. They fixed something that wasn't broken, and now it sucks.
1/26/2006 11:17:19 PM
You're CRAZY if you think the older version of WebCT wasn't a pain in the ass. The reasoning behind your statement is merely based on the fact that you've gotten used to the old version, and there's a slight learning curve behind Vista. God forbid if you have to learn something new... It's easier to use, easier to navigate, and tremendously helps the instructor organize their course material.
1/27/2006 10:13:54 AM
I take offense to anything that thinks pop-ups are a good way to handle navigation.WebCT sucked and WebCT Vista seems be just as bad if not worse.
1/27/2006 10:46:56 AM
Seriously, if you really just want to reuse the answers you already submitted, just copy the whole question into a word file. Isn't that hard.
1/27/2006 11:33:17 AM
1/27/2006 11:36:10 AM
i liked just the regular version betterhonestly cause it was easier to cheatthis one keeps you a little more honest
1/27/2006 12:03:38 PM
I hate the new vista. the old webct seemed easier..this one redirects me a lot and I have a problem downloading notes/documents for my classes.
1/27/2006 1:11:06 PM
You should make sure you don't have any problems with your browser. When you login, click "Check Browser" in the upper right corner. Make sure you have vistaserver.ncsu.edu as an allowed site for your popup blocker and you have an up-to-date version of Java installed.

Smells like someone works for/is one of the developers I'm all for defending the quality of the software you put outBut the again, I don't generally write crap like WebCT Vista [Edited on January 27, 2006 at 5:09 PM. Reason : .]
1/27/2006 5:09:20 PM
its not letting me log in, anyone else having this problem?
1/29/2006 6:03:39 PM
Yep...I think that's the 4th time this year it refused to let me log on
1/29/2006 6:22:18 PM
I can log on fine....?
1/29/2006 9:02:20 PM
I cant log on either...been this way for a few hours now...fucking bastards
1/29/2006 9:07:20 PM
Yeah the brilliant minds behind Vista always setup "Maintainance" on Sundays thinking that since it's not a schoolday, kids don't use it.I'd venture to say Sunday is the most heavily relied on day to complete homework of the week. And I mean what's to maintain? Freakin' Yahoo Mail works 99.9999% of the time and they can't get Vista up??
1/29/2006 9:35:32 PM
What do you mean its not letting you logon? There's not a scheduled maintence today......? You try to login and it just doesn't do anything or what?
1/29/2006 9:56:06 PM
its finally working again, but when i would click logon, it would give me a page does not exist error
1/29/2006 11:35:04 PM
it probably was caused by the power outages on campus...a lot of the servers went down and things went fubar when all of that happened...
1/30/2006 10:58:53 AM
Somebody must have bought into that "Oracle Grid" commercial.
1/30/2006 6:23:34 PM
I've always found webct to be a little user-unfriendly... webct vista is about the samewhat really bothers me with vista, though, is that i always seem to either have a server problem (where i cant log in) or it causes my browser to crash
1/30/2006 7:04:14 PM
^ yup..just tried logging in and my browser crashed each time...gg Vista gg
1/31/2006 6:12:53 PM
ok..so it keeps closing IE when I got to vista...so I use mozilla and after I log in I get some Java software message. And it freezes every window...GG VISTA GG
1/31/2006 6:16:01 PM
yeah my professor takes about 4 minutes each day just trying to d/load his class notes from Vista onto the classroom's PC to show each day
1/31/2006 8:46:20 PM
[quote]And I mean what's to maintain? Freakin' Yahoo Mail works 99.9999% of the time and they can't get Vista up??Hey noob,Do you have any clue how complex Vista is, or are you talking out your ass?
1/31/2006 11:00:27 PM
^ That's an AWESOME first post I must say...My gripe is that WebCT was freakin' stellar. It worked and it worked. Got the job done without the flashy crap that needs "updating" every Sunday for like 6 hours.EDIT: And yes, I can very well see how complex Vista is. It's so complex it can't even function as it's designed to.[Edited on January 31, 2006 at 11:45 PM. Reason : .]

ok i have passed this thread by the past couple days, but now yes now when i would like to go ahead and reply to someone's post which is a requirement for my 331 class, there is an f&$^ing error in the reply command!
