Because I thought it was store policy not to take back opened items if purchased w/a student discount. I can show you the receipt, it's dated to 10am yesterday...Ahmet

Just got off the phone w/the store, they WILL take it back but there's a $100 restocking fee. I guess I'm going to eat that, anybody want to beat $916.00 (out the door price w/the discounts comes to $1016 after tax).Ahmet

Why the fuck did you buy it before using it or researching it some?

lol,how could you be so stupid, but know everything all the timei dont understand

"how could you be so stupid, but know everything all the time"I get this a lot more often than you think... I have a brain that works in 'unique' ways, I remember obsecure parts of small talk for several years, but not some of the most basic things that most people take for granted...Anyway, as for not researching the thing before I bought it, I did some research but partly I wanted to submerge myself in the operating system. I didn't realize how accustomed I'd grown to a dual booting thinkpad, and ditto for a desktop PC. I've gotten a bit more comfy w/the ibook over the last few hours, and I was informed that I have 2 weeks to take the store up on the return, so I may hang onto it longer, I mean this thing DOES have great battery life...Ahmet

i mean, you're obviously a smart guythinkpads can not be beat

I mean, I agree but the G4 ibooks are $1k out the door, the battery actually does last for 5+ hours, not to mention the included drive (can't get it w/an ultra portable thinkpad). They're built pretty well, and people don't think I'm using my dad's 10 year old IBM.It's a similar deal to when I had the old Porsche vs. newer BMW. People think the BMW is quite a bit more bling, even though the anonymous 80s Porsche was a lot more rare and worth more (not to mention quite a bit faster), people thought it was just 'an old import hatchback', I kind of like that my apple doesn't blend in w/the sea of dells in class (not that this sort of thing's a big concern, but damn it, it IS a +).Ahmet

You could try ebay but I don't think iBooks are selling that well since most Mac fans are expecting them to move to the Intel chips by April. You might get lucky, though.

Yeah, I think i'd just return it to the apple store, but like I said I'm not sure, I think I'm starting to like it better. Ofcourse I'm never satisfied, and I suppose we'll see...Ahmet

i would return it back and wait for april....the new macs are gonna be hot with the intel

But I would still need a laptop now... I'm getting more and more used to the thing, but I can't see being as fast on it anytime soon. It's like learning a foreign language...Ahmet
