I uploaded the 2006 Summer Session schedules to the web.[link]sum 1 - http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/reg_records/tracs_bk/sum1/courses/directory.html[/link][link]sum 2 - http://www2.acs.ncsu.edu/reg_records/tracs_bk/sum2/courses/directory.html[/link]As you know, departments can change courses at any time. Additionally, we have to add some more footnotes to the existing schedule.

southpaw and firegrl...DE courses are showing up in STS. after poking around, i'm also seeing them listed in PRT, PHI, ID, ENG, and ARE. maybe they're working on it, but jsut aren't ready to give yall a final list

I hope some departments are going to send in more course offerings.Because the English ones above the 200 level don't leave much selection.
1/24/2006 2:01:32 PM
awesome, thanks a bunch. [add to my topics]

as far as DE, we do already have some listed, but typically they are added later than the on-campus listings.and for additional listings, i wouldn't count on things being added. but then again it is a long time between now and May 22.right now the departments should be working on their fall schedules (instead of adding to summer) so we can post those soon.[Edited on January 24, 2006 at 5:43 PM. why are almost all summer classses in the morning?
1/24/2006 10:53:03 PM
i think i've already had every philosophy course that will be offered over the summer
1/24/2006 11:14:38 PM
^^ it is departmental choice. if you are looking for something specific such as ENG 332 - ask the ENG department.
1/25/2006 9:34:18 AM
Any of you Unix folks have any idea when this stuff will be updated in Xtracs?
1/25/2006 11:10:59 AM
^ It usually shows up 2-3 days after it goes up on R&R's site.

DE has their listing up .... some courses will appear on our schedule of courses .... some won't.DE doesn't officially add a course until they have all their ducks in a row so to speak.http://distance.ncsu.edu/programs_courses/catalog/summer06/index.html

what about fall
1/25/2006 9:56:33 PM
when do you get pins and begin registering for summer classes?
1/25/2006 10:14:26 PM
Class offerings are scarce compared to last years..
1/26/2006 12:53:10 AM

i'm more than a little peeved at what they're only offering via DE (ACC 210, for example)and any clue why there aren't any ENG 101 classes?[Edited on January 26, 2006 at 11:10 AM. Reason : hmmm...they're still addnig classes]
1/26/2006 11:10:28 AM
is that a final Summer DE course listing? I sure hope it's not.
1/26/2006 11:27:37 AM
how does pe work DE?
1/27/2006 2:34:05 AM
usually it is a video tape with either online or on campus components as well.
1/27/2006 7:01:19 AM
how do we know if it is a ten week course or not?
1/30/2006 1:09:52 AM
^finding out the first day of class. lol sux but you know its not if its in session 2.
1/30/2006 1:13:10 AM
^^ I think the ten week courses are listed at the very bottom of the course listing (for each department) for summer 1. Should say something like "Ten Week Courses:" and then a list of all of them, if I recall correctly.
1/30/2006 1:30:00 AM
all ten week courses are listed as part of the first summer session listing and are section 051.[Edited on January 30, 2006 at 9:38 AM. Reason : :]

between a low freshman fall semester gpa & a few major changes, i've always done summer courses to bring up gpa/graduate on time. I'm looking forward to summer 06 being the first one off from school since b4 I came to State.
1/30/2006 11:03:54 AM
hm i looked on the DE and I could take an IDS class and my PE over the summer...Im debating if I should do this or not
1/30/2006 12:04:58 PM
^ I'd highly recommend it. They're over before you know it...that's the best part about 'em. And they're easy compared on normal full-length spring/fall courses.I really hope they add more 1-st summer session only DE courses...
1/30/2006 12:50:37 PM
i miss living on campus during the summer... metcalf was small but it was the closest to classes i ever lived (back in the good old days when they had an operating tunnel nearby). small classes & they are always easier over the summer regardless of what kind of class. easier to remember things on a final exam when the class only started about 5 weeks ago. no on campus traffic, much more parking. combined with the summer atmosphere, it always made for a really nice experience.
1/30/2006 2:06:59 PM
yea if i take the IDS and PE class then fall I would have 15 hrs and spring I would have 13 which would give me lots of time to work on my senior project
