Here's where the info's at.My friend and I have taken on a nice little project this winter. He bought a 2000 Yamaha R6 thats a bit wrecked for 1500 bucks. Has 16k miles on the engine. We just got it on Jan 15, 2006 and already we are working hard on it. The Bad: As you can tell, the gas tank has a huge dent, cracks and such in rear farings, missing upper cowl farings and headlamp. Well, the front rim is bent a bit, the subframe is bent as well, front forks are leaking fork oil and are shifted off the triple tree, and it is possibly in a need of a good carb tuning. The good: The owner bought an extra subframe and we installed that already, the tank has no holes, started right up when we got it. New sprocket, chain, and clutch. Our plans for it is to turn it into a streetfighter. We are going to paint it flat black and use it as a stunt bike as well. The sprocket on it is already an aftermarket stunt sprocket (not sure what size). We already bought the headlight kit and we'll prolly add a slip on exhaust, cage, and 12 bar in the near future. I'll take some pics of the pic with the body work we done to it tomorrow. This is what the bike looks like right now. Bondo filler on the dents and sanding it now. Bondo is a bitch since we put 20 layers on it and its hard to match the curves on the other side, expecially when the tank is bent a bit. But all in all, we've got the shape of it good and time to do touch up bondo.Well the body work is completed. Here's some more pics of the project and the finished body work. Added new spark plugs and air filter right after we took the tank off. Other pieces already preped for primer. And this is the finished product! We went with a flat black color, but instead of using the flat black color, it didn't make since of doing that when black primer is same color. So we added 3-4 coats of black primer and it works. Its not going to win any beauty contest, but it looks far better then when we got it.Project Detailsbike cost: $1500body filler: $16bondo scraper: $3bondo touchup: $3Black primer spray cans (4): $20fiberglass fabric: $5fiberglass resin: $11Various Sandpaper grits (80,220,400): $8Streetfighter headlight: $50Air filter: $50Spark plugs (4): $36Total project cost: $1702 (and change)Future additions to the bike:* Bought new engine crash cage for $315* New front forks* Larger stunt sprocket* 12 o'clock bar* Slip-on exhaust* Swingarm sliders[Edited on January 23, 2006 at 12:31 AM. electric sander to the rescue!I taught jbaz how to manipulate teh bondo
1/23/2006 10:30:21 AM
^no, I just didn't use the electric sander. I like working it by hand with a file or sandpaper.
1/23/2006 10:54:13 AM
i used it though new helmet for bike with mirror shield. my old helmet turned out being too big and never fit right..doh
1/23/2006 11:00:59 AM

oh shitdo a flat blue
1/26/2006 5:30:53 PM
shit, for 10 bucks, change the bike's color every week! You could even stash 2 paint cans in the back seat then when your on police bands, just change the color. "what officer? This is a blue bike, your looking for a black bike? Nope, its been blue for a while and its a honda."
1/26/2006 8:13:12 PM
the cage..apologies for night picts.
1/31/2006 10:42:57 PM
now you will have to slow down to about 25 mph every time you come up to a corner
1/31/2006 11:27:08 PM
i dont think it comes out as far as the 905 i had on the gixxer. and im not a knee grinder anyway. besides if i try to lean really far i find myself going way to fast, around double the speed limit most times, and i dont need to be doing that!that's why i have the hawk
1/31/2006 11:28:32 PM
lol, kyle leaning? when? I've never seen that before. I want some pics for proof. Now, kyle, get a third bike so you can learn how to lean.
2/1/2006 9:46:22 AM
i can lean plenty on the hawk
2/1/2006 9:58:58 AM
