this year. I would have to say the Big East although the ACC is normally the most competitive its certainly a rebuilding and young year for the ACC.

calling NYMnumbers for this one

big eastno questionthis is obviouswhat a dumb thread
1/21/2006 2:15:14 PM
yeah this is stupid really. For one thing its stupid because the Big East is no longer a conference. It's more of a region. They have 94 teams. How many D-1 Teams are there? ~336?So basically 94/336 they have 25% of the country in their "conference". They dont even need to call them the Big East... jsut "East" would suffice. Also its dumb because the ACC is weaksauce this year.

might as well ask ACC vs. the rest of the NCAAthe tournament will show who is better
1/21/2006 2:18:18 PM
We're better than the Big 10!!!!
1/21/2006 2:20:54 PM
but pound for pound we have them without a doubt i believe...i mean with pitt losing today and all the other terrible teams they have...
1/21/2006 2:21:51 PM
hahaha wtfhow does pit losing help the ACC's causethe've only lost once now which is better than 11 ACC schoolsplus it shows the depth of the conferenceyou, sir, are a moron
1/21/2006 2:23:07 PM
just shows that pitt wasnt as good as everyone thought, personally i thought they were overrated all year
1/21/2006 2:26:08 PM
pitt would lose to clemson
1/21/2006 2:26:51 PM
^ well considering G'Town is a comparable team in teh B.E. to Clemson in the ACC that isn't saying much..Pitt is ALWAYS overrated. They start out like this EVERY SINGLE YEAR because of some piss poor OOC schedules. They'll take their Sweet 16 loss like every year and move on. Which is fine for that program. They are like Wake Forest to me except their weakness is always shooting..As for the question... it should be who is the best: Big 10 or Big East because those are the 2 best conferences.. ACC will take it's spot back at the top next year with the maturation of younger teams like GT and UNC as well as the continued succes of Duke and us, etc, etc..There is my 'cliched' response.. have a good day!

gg rally
1/21/2006 2:36:36 PM
Big East will almost forever be deeper than any conference, i mean, they have 16 teams, if they aren't deeper then there's a serious problem...as for "better"... this year the nod has to go to the Big Least, i hate to say it but it's just the truth, the acc is quite weak this year, we'll probably put 6 in the tournament, but it'll only be on reputation

So far this year in my opinion:Top 1/4th:Duke, NCSU, UNC vs. Villanova, UConn, Pitt, SyracuseAdvantage: Big EastQ2:BC, Maryland, FSU vs.West Virginia, Cincy, Georgetown, MarquetteAdvantage: Big EastQ3:Wake, Miami, VT vsLouisville*, ND, Rutgers, St JohnsAdvantage: ACCQ4:Virginia, Clemson, GT vs.Seton Hall, Providence, DePaul, USFAdvantage: MAJOR ACC mainly because of how bad USF is..Overall I think the ACC is better top-to-bottom, but because the ACC is so much more balanced, the Big East representatives in the tournament should be a little better than the ACC's.*Yes I think Lville is that bad
1/21/2006 2:54:55 PM
I'd put WVU in the top 1/4th way before I'd put Syracuse there. And then the margin for the BE gets even higher.
