You have to delete the "s" in "https".

and the "time=..." part too.

No, actually the website's not working.

well that's HRs site for you... as far as i can tell, there's no way to cut and paste a direct link to a specific position

so go to http://jobs.ncsu.edu/

and search for position number 62234

sorry about that

The new hire's first task is to fix that broken website.

If for some reason the job I'm supposed to be getting upon graduation falls through, I'll apply.

Of course, this would be in May.

That job site is fucking retarded. You can't just link a job. It's a horrible design and the guy who made it is a prick to. lol.

FYI, that is the job posting system that pretty much every university uses (and I'm pretty sure it's ACS, not ITD).

definitely wasn't itd's handiwork. not sure it was ACS but they're a more likely candidate.

It's a mute arguement at this point. I know the person who deals with the website complaints and he gets 10-12 per day talking about how difficult it is to navigate the site and if you click something wrong you can't go back.

What ya get for making a jsp page for something a simple query would suffice.

Patman is correct in that statement. And Raige, if you can design a better system, go for it. I've seen and used several online application systems ... this one is better by far than a lot of the ones out there. Best I've seen is those who use Taleo.

clev, starting pay looks fairly good ... ~$40k. Is the job pretty much a guaranteed 40 hrs/wk?

I can and did but it was never deployed because they changed their business model. So the one I made, which still is better as far as usability... is here

it's a full time salaried position. you're supposed to work 40 hours a week.

sometimes you work more than 40. but you only get paid for 40. but you get comp time.

like i said, it's a regular state job. benefits aren't the best, but ITD is an awesome environment to work in. i'm going on 7 years there. you can go look at the benefits section of hr's site. the basics are you get almost a day a month of vacation for the first 2 years. for years 2-5 you get 11 hours a month. then it goes up every 5 or ten years. you can accumulate lots. you get one sick day per month and eleven or twelve holidays. health benefits for yourself don't cost anything, but when you add in a spouse or kids they become expensive.

pay isn't the best and raises, well, they keep throwing additonal vacation at us instead of money. but like i said, this is a great environment. i can't speak to other units in the university, but itd is very warm and a very flexible place to work.

the Hillsborough Bldg is kinda creepy. I think they have a mold problem.

As far as the Peoplesoft HR job posting system goes, the worst thing about it is that every university uses it but you can't search them all at once.

Jeremy, that's true, but I doubt the customers (ie the Universities) would want the kind of competition it would create.
