They have not beat a single sure fire NCAA tourny team home or away like 15 games in to the seasonshows how meaningless the polls are this time of the year

In related news 4 loss Boston College, who hasn't beaten a ranked team, sneaked out a win against Holy Cross tonight.

agree[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 9:34 PM. Reason : (That both of the teams mentioned above are crazy overrated ]
1/17/2006 9:33:24 PM
even Pitino doesnt know why theyre ranked...he said hes trying to be realistic
1/17/2006 9:34:15 PM
When will you realize the polls really dont mean shit. All that really matters is how you do in the tourney.
1/17/2006 9:47:36 PM
might as well not even have a regular season

^ Yeh, you can win only one game but come tournament time you won't lose any.Meaning you damn better do well in the regular season to get into the tournament.[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 10:26 PM. Reason : spelling it out for the fags who think the regular season doesn't matter]

I think it shows how down college basketball is this year. Carolina, BC, Louisville are all ranked because there really aren't better teams to take their spots.
1/17/2006 10:24:42 PM
1/17/2006 10:26:25 PM
^how? rankings have almost nothing to do with getting into the tourney or not, quality wins and bad losses do.
1/17/2006 10:41:58 PM
St. Johns is beating them by 10 with 8 minutes left.
1/17/2006 10:46:17 PM
^^^^I bet LSU and Xavier beg to differ. There are probably 40+ teams better than Louisville.[Edited on January 17, 2006 at 10:49 PM. Reason : ^^^^]

I agree on Xavier. Sean Miller has those boys playing well. They might beat GW for the A-10 title.

Top 25 teams have been left out of the NCAA Tournament. I think the tournament selection committee does a really good job of actually watching basketball games throughout the year, so they know who is really deserving and who is over ranked. I think in addition to nd a few years ago, a ranked Utah St. team was left out of the tournament despite having a great record but not winning the Big West Tournament.
1/18/2006 9:25:16 AM
utah state sounds righti remember the nd snub, but were they actually ranked at the end of the season? not that i recall
1/18/2006 9:35:49 AM
For the last two years, ND has been the only major-conference team to have a 9-7 or better conference record and fail to make the tournament.Don't think they've been ranked in either season, though.[Edited on January 18, 2006 at 10:26 AM. Reason : ]

its just the universe leveling things out after all the slurping their football team gets
1/18/2006 10:27:25 AM
Louisville lost to Kentucky. Normally that is not a big thing, but UK is horrible so that is a really bad loss IMO.
1/18/2006 12:00:01 PM
the kentucky game doesn't have as much relevance as the others b/c it's a rival game and those games are always a toss-up
