= my wireless connection just resets when using VNC on a LAN computer. wireless disconnects, then reconnects immediately, causing VNC to close, of course. I had a similar issue with windows vpn. There's something up with the encapsulation that seems to own windows's ability to maintain a connection. Never found a solution

Not bashing at all, but I've had situations where this occured unexplainably with a windows pc, where a mac had no problems at all. I agree with the firmware suggestion though... I've been using the opensource dd-wrt for a while now and it is flippin packed with options... recommend you give it a shot.

^yea, if you have a WRT54G, there are a bunch of 3rd party firmwares like that specialized to do a bunch of neat things...For many use cases, I've found that using a WRT54G + 3rd party firmware is pretty darn close to using a real Cisco product without paying the premium price...at least for SMB

When people have trouble with VPN usually the first reccomendation is to lower the MTU. I would give that a shot. Can't hurt.
