On why our ACC basketball rivalry schedule should be mixed up to accomadate FAIRNESS.What I mean is the UNC/STATE 2-game series has always started in Chapel Hill (for atleast the last 5 years)My argument is based on 3 principles:1) It is always tougher to play on the road in the ACC2) It is always tougher to play a team for the first time because of inexperience with other team's offense plus unknown variables3) When playing home and away, there is more psychological pressure to win the second game if you lose the first.NC State should/could have won at Chapel Hill the other weekend but that is not the issue. The fact is, UNC's young team would not have had the benefit of the doubt if they made mistakes at the RBC and the crowd wouldn't have forgiven them for those mistakes.....ending most likely in a State victory. This series always starts on the road for State, adding the advantage to UNC every year. You can also say that by winning the first game at home, UNC negates the first principle because they would have more confidence against us.This is a clear disadvantage for NC State basketball and the field will NOT be level while this trend continues.

I agree, but it's beyond my powers

Damn....I thought they rotated every year for the teams that play twice...thats pretty fucked up. I know we have alternated first home game with Wake for the past 3 years, but I never thought about it for UNC.

I know that the UNC/State game has always started in Chapel Hill for the entire time I was a student at NC State. '02-'05

See, this is what pisses me off. People don't realize that we've got a fucking hood over our heads and our hands behind our backs.

It's better we play them there earlier in the yearThis way when we lose at least it doesn't look so bad when we're trying to make the tournament.

^see, thats the problem with the whole thing. The advantage is theirs before we start the first game.

I would rather lose to Carolina at the beginning of the season than lose to them at the end of the season when our team is looking to finish strong.

Over time though, UNC will lose more games to us since they'd have to travel first. It is one of those statistical deals that you'd have to study for more than just a few seasons. The fact is that UNC wouldn't win as many games against us if the playing field was level.

John Swofford - ACC Commisioner - UNC GradErskine Bowles - UNC System President - UNC GradWant fairness, then these people need to go. Until then, NC State will never get a fair shake.

I just looked up the schedules for the past 5 years. In 2001 and 2003, UNC played at Raleigh first. Then, we played over at their place later in the season.

I don't think he should have been put there to begin with. He has too much of a political and institutional bias before he even gets the job. Then they have secret meetings to select him. He got put in that job by his buddies. Talk about the "good-old-boy" situation. He got that job fraudulently. So, yeah, I am calling for him to be out. There was no fair and unbiased search. They all wanted him, and they proved it by not opening the discussion to public comment.
