Exactly. Under 5 years of Bush the national debt is jacked up from 4 to now over 8 trillion dollars. This is astronomical levels of spending and debt. And the government has been increased in size and power to levels even democrats could not have imagined. If the democrats were doing this, the brainwashed republican supporters would be screaming bloody murder.

Then you have illegal immigration. The past 5 years have seen a dramatic increase in the levels of illegal immigration. Record levels, and way above the levels under Clinton. Bush is even proposing amnesty for the illegals ("guest worker program"), and he called the Minutemen "vigilantes." And remember, it was Reagan who gave amnesty to illegals last time (not a democrat). If a democrat were allowing this illegal immigration (especially after 9/11), and proposing amnesty for illegal aliens, the republicans would be mad as hell. And, yet, the brainwashed blindly loyal republican supporters still think the republicans are the party that will fight illegal immigration.

I guess the republicans can do no wrong according to some blindly loyal republican supporters. No matter what they do--spend like gangbusters, make the government much more powerful, spy on us in violation of the 4th Amendment, propose amnesty for illegals, advocate torturing people--some republican supporters will think that its ok because it is republicans that are doing it. But if a democrat were doing the same thing, it would be a different story. Doesn't that demonstrate the absurdity of being blindly loyal to a party?

That's just 2 or 3 issues. True conservatives need to wake up and see that they've been conned and deceived by the republicans, who are phony conservatives implementing a socialist, big government agenda.
