No amount of awesome can make up for a game with anything Disney in it, much less some ridiculous medley of every goddamn shitty disney movie ever.

ill say it kinda discouraged me from playing the first one. not that i see myself as some brute man or anything, but it just didnt appeal to me vs something original or darker.

This is exactly what I thought when I first heard of KH

and then when I actually played it, I got completely hooked. Somehow it just worked.

^^ Uh, I'm pretty sure choice of characters falls under "story" and has nothing to do with graphics, which I really don't give a shit about as long as they're not bad enough to impede the gameplay.

I mean, there could be a KKK game where you go around lynching darkies with the best gameplay ever made but it would sicken me so much I just couldn't play it.

I watched my sister play KHII last night for almost 3 hours, and although the story may be good, its the most damn confusing thing to watch play out. It feels like watching an episode of Lost where you get bits and pieces of story and you get more questions than answers.

I heard the game is too insanely easy. I guess developers had to cater to the fact that kids would be playing the game, and they needed to make it possible for them to win.

i bought it for my girlfriend. shes crazy about this series.

so far, this decision has brought me plenty of good times, so i support kingdom hearts and for all i care they can make as many of these as they do megaman games.

The first two hours made me go "plz get through the story, geez". I was watching someone else play it and that made it even less eventful.

yeah literally the first 3 hours are kinda pointless...i mean i guess you need it for the story...but the game doesnt actually even do the title screen (opening shot) until after 3 hours or so

You mean you find it hard to believe that they could not afford johnny depp and orlando bloom for a small part in a video game? Those guys are $$$.

Yeah but is this game not, in part, produced by Disney? Assuredly Disney could put out the $texas that would have been required.

Think how many more games they would have sold if they had

KINGDOM HEARTS II
featuring the voice talents of Johnny Depp & Orlando Bloom

Barbossa's voice is his PotC's actor's (Geoffrey Rush? I suck at movies.)

And Bruce Boxleitner's doing the voice of Tron.

You think they would've found ways to just splice out lines from the movies and put them in, and somehow find a way for them to mesh seamlessly.

Really. It follows most of the plot anyway. Damn, I bet they could find the words "Donald", "Goofy" and "Sora" between Lord of the Rings and What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

You kids should know better than to read a thread and not expect spoilers but anyway

If you think the final fight came too early play it on super hard mode or complete Jiminy Cricket's journal with good ratings. That is if you want to see the real ending.

^I'm sure it's a good game and all, but in all likelihood (sp?) I will never play it. What happens during the "real" ending? If you have to explain the story for the entire game in order for it to make sense, I'm also down with that.

I've been playing on Proud mode..

..and I consider myself to be a pretty good gamer..

..and I've died a good 30 times already!!

I chose magic power, and I keep finding ways to get myself killed. It's not that I'm dying to the bosses; I keep dying to the stupid drones that pop up.

I'm finally starting to find my groove, as I hadn't died since the stupid toon cars in the black & white land. Here's to hoping I don't come across some stupid enemy that can zap half of my HP in one shot.

Magic has been pretty tertiary in KH games except for in certain zones like Halloween Town and Port Royal and that's just when you might keep Donald in your group-- but I've always picked the sword at the beginning of the game. The fat bandits/large bodies have gotten a lot tougher to kill in this game because you have to hit them from behind or use guard break instead of just hitting them upside the head.

I couldn't beat Sephiroth (The demon in Peter Pan land or Kurt Ziza, for that matter) in the first Kingdom Hearts game.

I seriously doubt that I'd be able to take him in this one either. I just hope that the special ending doesn't depend on it.

Apparently, the Squaresoft crew hadn't whored themselves enough in Ehrgeiz.

Once you get past the fact its a streamlined version of Seiken Denetsu without any form of multiplayer, you realize the game is overly easy, with no boss ever remotely reaching the level of difficulty provided by Omega Weapon and Shinryu of Final Fantasy 5.

sephiroth on 2 is a pretty big challenge. He killed me in 10 seconds but im only a level 70 right now. Plus i thought i was suppossed to lose the battle, but its like the battle in 1- just at a different place. BUt the game is badass but i found it a lot easier then one also.

Okay, so I've been plodding through this one and just can't seem to get into it as much as the first one. I LOVED the first one, but this one just doesn't inspire me to spend every waking moment playing it. Also, I miss the serious lack of mini-games other than Pooh's torn pages (which are mind numbingly easy to find this time around). All around I've felt this one isn't as near of a challenge as the other one. Anyone else agree?

Also, how dare they include an even gayer Atlantica and make Tron's world so lame.

"MagicJuggler-- I'm going to call you out for trying to sound like some kind of know it all because you remind me of my obnoxious self when I was 19. Every fool who adored FFVII is eating up the advent children insertion in KH2 now and that was totally intentional because the people buying this -for that very reason- are the creeps who put a scary amount of effort into their Cloud/Sephy slash. Omega weapon wasn't hard (unless you're thinking of emerald or ruby?) and terribly difficult bosses and fights are optional, and at least avoidable. And if you're going to say the gameplay's like SD, at least say SD4-- the other games in the series were "oppressively linear" by comparison."

I'm talking about FFV, not FFVIII. I saw Advent Children, and aside from the action sequences skipped everything else. Personally, I liked FFVI better than VI if only because Kefka was a far more...entertaining villain than Sephiroth. The optional boss fights felt more difficult compared even to ones like the Cloud&Yuffie Coliseum battle of the first. That said, I gave up on the Seiken Denetsu series ever since discovering Guardian Heroes for the Sega Saturn.
