I have some that old that still workbut none the less I have moved all of my important data off of CD-R's and back onto backed up harddrives thanks to the price falling on those.

^ YMMVI have had CD-Rs that "lost" their data after being stored. If I burn a CD, it is just to be used in an audio CD player or for quick data transfer.I only backup my data to hard disks for long-term storage. I will only keep things on CDs or DVDs that I don't mind loosing.
