What is the least crowded time at the gym? Last semester I went between classes around 9, and since they closed 3 out of 4 of the weight room for classes, it was pretty crowded in that little back room. I was thinking I'm going to have to put in a little more effort and get there around 9 at night, cause I doubt seriously that people will be working out that late. I'm probably going to go check it out today at 11ish, that's when I get out of class. What times have you found to be most effective?

And if you don't want to give it away to tons of people, why don't you post an incorrect time and pm me the actual time, haha

If you think going at 9PM is better than 9AM, you're kidding yourself. The best time to go is 6AM.

I figured there has got to be a best time after the weight classes stop so that all the rooms are open. Because I'm tired of being forced into that crappy back room just so 20 total people can take up 3 weight rooms while 35 are in our little room.

just buy some free weights and a bench and use the internet to learn how to use them.

it will be less crowded in March. the morning is the best time for your body to lift, but that takes dedication I don't have. so after work it is.

I'm not very fond of cold weather. I've noticed that on some days it's a lot more crowded in the morning than at night, especially for the machines that I want to use (elliptical crosstrainer and the like). But when I go really late they're usually always open. Is it better to work out really early in the day? I had never heard that and also I don't know how busy the gym is at 7 or 8.

there isn't any solid scientific data supporting when you should workout.

the most effective time of the day, is when you feel ready. if you're not a morning person, the morning is not for you.

your best bet to get a spot is early in the morning. college students aren't keen on waking up to workout at 6 am.

Just before Spring break, when the guys and girls think a few weeks in the gym is gonna make them look better on the beach, is always a bitch of time at the gym.

The volume increase is ridiculous. As has been said ... go when you have the most energy and when you can consistently go.
