hey, i had heard that during one's graduating semester (at least for CALS students) you can have any number of hours and still be considered full time. does anyone know if this is true or not? i kinda doubt it is true... jsut wondering if anyone actually knew

don't sign up for more than 12 then try to go below even if it is your last semester - they still make it hell to drop below 12

The simple answer is "it depends". While NCSU may consider you full time with less than 12 credit hours, scholarships/medical/etc. etc. may not.

"The minimum course load for full-time undergraduate degree students is 12 credit hours, except in their final semester when a lesser number may be taken if that is all the student needs to fulfill the requirements for a degree. In any case, to receive financial aid a student must meet the minimum course load requirements of the appropriate funding agency. (See also Length of Time to Graduation)"

^^ you are not done until you are done. You may walk in May if your college allows you to walk in the big ceremony before you are done (they won't do that if you extend your coursework to Fall). But, you do not "graduate" until you have completed all the requirements for the degree.

ask your insurance company for the facts.

sometimes insurance companies will honor less than 12 if that is all you have to finish and it can be documented by a letter from your adviser or reg and records. Sometimes insurance companies will allow you to be at less than FT status if it is a one time thing, exception, needed, as verified or recommended by an adviser. Ask the insurance company and see what they say first and document your situation if needed.
