I just watched this movie tonight on DVD with my wife.It is a truly fantastic movie....granted my perception may have been skewed by the 2 bottles of vino.Directed by Woody Allen, starring Will Ferrell, and a hodge podge of "seen them once of twice actors" as well as a side role from the Boss (I forget his name) from The Office on NBC.not to tell the entire story, but the gist is that 4 people are talking about the direction of a screenplay and the manner it which it should go (tragedy or comedy). The story plays out both ways and the events that unfold are hilarious as well as depressing. The movie really takes an interesting look on how many of the same ideas can be told in completley different manners, but with the same underlying themes. If you ever get the chance to rent the DVD, or are looking for a good film to watch, I definitely suggest giving this one a try.Two E-Thumbs up!

There are a few good parts, but overall it's subpar Woody.

^ Basically what I've heard. The only person I know who really liked it basically eats and breathes Woody Allen.

it is a most excellent movie. granted, it's only like Woody Allen's 15th best film, but that's more of a commentary on the crazy number of great movies he makes rather than a poor review of Melinda and Melinda.

It was barely okay. There was some really bad acting and the storyline was kind of flat.

Tried to which watch it with my girlfriend last night. Because they were juxtaposed, I couldn't take either side seriously. The comedic parts seemed strained an over the top like Nick at Night comedies, and the drama was soap opera-like. Switching between the two was a neat concept, but I couldn't get into either of them.

^really?that stinks. I really liked the movie. I found it to be an interesting way to show that the two storys were going through almost identical situations. Oh well. I guess you either love it or hate it.That seems to be a staple of all Woody Allen movies.

A great idea for a movie with a great cast made into a mediocre, watch once affair.I've seen it three times and every time I remember and hope it's better and then when I watch it I'm disappointed again. The third time I watched it I quit in the middle.Worth a watch if you like this sort of thing.
