Gavin Smith, DT, (6-foot-5, 275 pounds, 5.0 seconds) committed to N.C. State shortly after signing day back in February. Smith was planning to enroll at State in January of 2006 but that has changed. He has since re-opened his recruitment and will take official visits in January and enroll in his school of choice in the fall.

"I am very interested in what Virginia has to offer in terms of academics and on the field. I still consider myself a soft commit to N.C. State but I am exploring all of my options."

Four teams make up the final group that Smith will decide from.

"I will decide between N.C. State, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. I have official visits set up for South Carolina on Jan. 14, Virginia on Jan. 20, and North Carolina on Jan. 27."

Hey worked for me at a city of raleigh pool several years back.. he's not smart. We used to throw water balloons at him and then talk him out of being mad. I'm rather suprised he's eligble to play in highschool, let alone drive or walk around unattended..... We like to call him Gay-vin.
