wondering whether to take a literature class or the research writing class since i'm taking some other tough classes and dont want to have to spend all my time reading/writing papers. which one has the lighter work load so i won't be stressing out this semester?

I don't know if Dr. Hunt is still teaching ENG 251 but I took it with him a few semester's ago hoping for an relatively easy ENG class.251 was a repeat basically of 12th grade English and therefore wasn't too hard (in fact it was fairly easy). We wrote one paper. And it was (if I remember right) only a few pages - at most 5 pages or something...wasn't anything ridiculous that couldn't be done in a weekend. If I had to take another ENG class for some reason I'd definitely take a class with Dr. Hunt - really cool guy.

If Hunt is teaching ENG 251, then take that.

I had Shaw for 262 last fall. If he still requires journal entries - run. They simply "grow" over the course of the semester (ours over than doubled in length requirement, but since there was never anything on paper, it didn't seem like a fight worth it). Apart from the hellish journal, he's easy - just keep up with the reading (he does pop reading quizzes regularly).

I didn't think that the work load in 333 was that bad. I would take 333 if you're in a field where knowing how to write grants and proposals would help you. (i.e a science)
