I couldn't find one, so I figured I'd start one. Since you don't recruit as many people in bball as football, this thread can be for any year.I'll start it off with a huge PG target of ours who is being recruited by Wake, Duke, and Villanova:http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=1573138
1/4/2006 7:20:18 PM
I didn't look but I'm guessing it's Chris Wright? I honestly think he'll end up at Villanova but I hope I'm wrong.
1/4/2006 7:23:39 PM
notice the wink.

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=9&c=2&cid=485564&nid=1573138&fhn=1&refid=4742huh, that was sooner than i thought it would be announced.4 star on scout/5 star on rivals.Herb has his "true PG"!!!!! Welcome Chris Wright!
1/4/2006 10:16:02 PM
Wow, I think someone jumped the gun. Thought it was going to be via Press Conference
1/4/2006 10:17:18 PM
I am assuming the link you posted was to the primium site, if all is true though this is great news
1/4/2006 10:17:31 PM
HUGE! I guess the whole 'no top PG will ever want to come here' thing is the next stereotype broken..
1/4/2006 10:19:13 PM
^^ It's true. "Gossip" started a few days ago, but I didn't think it was going to be released until at least the end of the week. Awesome pickup, Herb. Finally...a fucking true PG [Edited on January 4, 2006 at 10:25 PM. Reason : ]
1/4/2006 10:19:34 PM
Yussss! Now maybe we'll get a few more 5-stars to go along with him.
1/4/2006 10:23:04 PM
1/4/2006 10:24:47 PM
hopefully he isnt a year too late..we'll have him as a soph with ced, grant as seniors, fells, mccauley, costner as juniors, and whatever other scrubs we have coming in
1/4/2006 10:26:13 PM
This has to help us with Vaughnhttp://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=178&p=8&c=1&nid=1843130They're good friends. Maybe we can get lucky and steal him as well. We really really really really need Wright to accel in Herb's offense... just to show that a PG can become a great NCAA/NBA player with Herb's offense.

1/4/2006 10:33:18 PM
actually, i guess he is 2007. wont be too relevant to what we have now
1/4/2006 10:33:23 PM
will be relevant to the future of this program
1/4/2006 10:34:00 PM
^^ Herb's done a great recruiting job lately. He's always recruited well, but each year (aside from the Hodge class) seems to get better and better. Wright is certainly a great start for 2007. More talent will follow... much more. No worries
1/4/2006 10:37:54 PM
i hope ced stays til his senior year to play with wright. I have seen a mock draft though where he's 16th overall after his junior year.im pumped to have an insider recruiting for us for a couple years!
1/4/2006 10:42:11 PM
awesome, just awesome
1/4/2006 10:43:24 PM
I smell the stench of optimism creeping into this thread. This is NCSU, folks.
1/4/2006 10:43:47 PM
i have been optimistic about ncst basketball for the last 5 yearsnothing has changed here
1/4/2006 10:47:59 PM

1/4/2006 10:48:28 PM
he picked us over some good programsomg sonny vaccaro this is outstanding news!
1/4/2006 10:48:51 PM
Fucking huge. I'm so glad our AD didn't listen to the vocal minority and lousy local sports writers.

1/5/2006 1:44:43 AM
anyone else feel this snowball gaining more and more momentum??
1/5/2006 8:20:12 AM
wait, so this guy is a HS junior? i can't get the link to his profile to work.he coming next year or the year after?
1/5/2006 8:54:36 AM
Class of 2007
1/5/2006 8:59:29 AM
so that gives him a lot of time to change his mind
1/5/2006 9:00:44 AM
1/5/2006 9:02:25 AM
he might even just decide to go pro if he has a good senior year
1/5/2006 9:38:38 AM
This is HUGE.Hopefully Vaughn will decide to join him.
1/5/2006 9:39:45 AM
i dont know if that link I posted yesterday was insider info or not, but ill post the text here because damnit its fun to read:
1/5/2006 11:38:43 AM
^ Awesome
1/5/2006 12:30:36 PM
1/5/2006 1:01:44 PM
who is this redheaded guy who has been sitting on the bench for the last few gamesi heard he was coming to state
1/5/2006 2:01:15 PM
Ferguson?Yeah, he's a guard who recently committed. He's considered a transfer so he won't be able to play until next December or so.
1/5/2006 2:04:36 PM
yeah, he's with the team though and can practice. Just not play until a year from when he enrolled...late december i believe.
1/5/2006 2:12:09 PM
yep, but he'll still have 4 years of eligibility, which means he'll have a lot of time to learn the system before he ever sees the court.
1/5/2006 2:14:03 PM
If we can effectively use Wright to recruit we could probably land some good talent, and Vaughn would be a GREAT addition. Two 5-Star recruits would be incredible for us.
1/5/2006 2:15:21 PM
if we get vaughn i will possibly crap my pants.
1/5/2006 2:22:17 PM
new quote from dave telep on wright:
1/5/2006 2:29:37 PM
1/5/2006 2:34:00 PM
on the topic of Ferguson...I thought he'd be able to play starting at the beginning of next season. That he doesn't need to be in our school for a year... he needs to be out of Pitt for a year(was enrolled there over the summer)can someone confirm this?
1/5/2006 3:06:36 PM
im pretty positive he can't play in a game til late december. 1 year after he came on our campus.
1/5/2006 3:11:49 PM
http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/485581.htmlanother article...can you tell we're excited to have him? man..can imagine a real PG in this offense? I can't friggin wait.
1/5/2006 4:24:48 PM
bttt, this thread...since the last post:Chris Wright verballed of course.Looks like we have a really good chance of gettin Jamelle McMillian, a 4 star combo guard.http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/503844.html
3/1/2006 6:15:01 PM
do we? I thought he wanted to stay closer to home in seattle.
3/1/2006 6:16:59 PM
^Nates sonlooks a bit skinny, but a good player!
3/1/2006 6:17:08 PM

3/1/2006 6:18:04 PM
