or transfer cases that would bolt to a non-shitty, non-truck transmissionanyone got any ideas?or custom manufacturers? brainstorming for a future project.

what transmission do you have in mind? if this is for a ford v8, why not use a C6 tranny? that was used in both cars and trucks. If you want to use a car-specific transmission, then you can use a divorced transfer case like a NP205

i think you can get a t56 to fit up.....do a quick google

the plan is to make an awd resto mod of an older ford i have an fe motor, a bbf (512cube), and a 351w, I also wouldn't mind using a 5.4 dohc setup eitheri really would rather have a manual transmission... thats the problem autos seem to be a dime a dozen.if i wanted an auto i would just rob the entire drivetrain out of a lincoln navigator and design an independent suspension system to go along w/ it.i want something more car oriented then a 205i'm going to send an e-mail to http://www.magnadrivetrain.com/ when i get home to see if they have anything that would workt-56 is basically the transmission i want i know it will fit on the motor but i'm trying to find an xfer case that would be decent on a roadcourse... thats sorta the idea of this... using lots of fiberglass (maybe aluminum) to make a classic pretty sick on track with f*ck tons of power[Edited on January 4, 2006 at 2:07 PM. check out http://www.turbotime.us ask todd. he made a custom tranny for a sy/ty that held 700awhp donuts pretty well.

todd is soooooooooooo cool

Lookin for a manual though
1/4/2006 6:19:36 PM
were all of those full time 4wd Dodges and Jeeps automatics? the trans. and transfer case would be mighty heavy though
1/4/2006 6:28:09 PM
np242 is a pos anyway i think that company i posted above i could a diff that could be controlled by a stand alone engine management system... i think the aem one does traction control etc..... that would be nice

Yeah actually we (turbotime) have a guy build an adaptor to mount a transfercase on a new gen heavy duty truck GM tranny to run high HP applications on the Sy/Ty Crowd, and rumor has it there might be somebody trying a T-56 adaptor...
