Weld the goddamn thing. That's what everybody else does. Unless of course, you want to be able to revert to stock...and then R180's are a dime a dozen. The one to get is out of a Datsun 810...has 3.70 gears. Either that or a 200SX with the CA20 engine. That one is 4.11...BTW, any minispool will eliminate the spider gears. And it really is only as strong as the cross shaft, which is absolutely fine if you're not drag racing.I didn't even know a mini spool was available for the R180 diff.At any rate, for SCCA ITS, it's not legal, to the best of my knowledge.Hold on...actually, it might be. You can use any diff you want to, and it's legal to weld a stock one.[Edited on January 1, 2006 at 5:39 PM. Reason : more info.][Edited on January 1, 2006 at 5:41 PM. Reason : more info...]

but how many people are goingto know if you have a mini spool ifyou dont say anything. if they ask about it being possi why cant you say that you have a 1.5 way diff. i didnt think that ITS would care that much about it anyway

you can get away with some things.if you happen to race at a track and come in top 3, they'll tear your car down if they have any doubts.

Yep. Who needs spider gears? If I still had my old R180, I'd give it to you. But it had 3.36 gears. Now I have an R200 with 3.90's!
