whats the easiest and cheapest way to get my ipod to play through my jeep wrangler (04) stereo. I dont want that FM modulator crap, so i think i either need a direct ipod cord or an aux input

cassette adaptor gives the best sound quality unless you are considering some rewiring.

Double check if that is compatible with your jeep.I did this setup in my sisters explorer and it works great. The only thing that would be different is the adaptor going into your stereo. http://www.nextelmodz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8588

^^when i put my car info in it says that one is not compatabile. I have the 7speaker system in mine...i think i need an aux adapter that plugs into the cdchanger port...whats the cheapest on that - also, how hard is this to do myself...i have little experiance doing this and should i pay someone who knows what they are doing?

That one plugs in to the changer port. The way it works is you just press whatever you would press to get to the CD changer and it starts playing the ipod or whatever is hooked up to it. If you get the ipod adaptor it charges it as well. I just re-ran the search and it says it is compatible with the seven speaker system in a 2004 wrangler. I think you can do this because it really does not require cutting any wires or rewiring anything. The hardest part when I did it was fishing the wires through the dash.

where is the plug for the changer, on the back of the reciever? and also, is it hard to get the dash off?

my suggestion? quit being a consumer whore, sell the ipod, and use the money another consumer whore gives you to buy a decent stereo for your car...with the money left over, you can THEN buy a decent mp3 player...additionally, you can (possibly) sell the old stereo you had in your jeep and come away with some pocket moneyresult? you're less of a whore and you have a couple bucks to blow on a transvestite

went to circuit city (besy buy didn't have any) and bought a honda aux input box. it replaced my 6disc changer. i installed it in 15 mins( put the actual box in my glove box where the changer was), plugged my ipod into the red/white RCA plugs (with a phono>RCA cable), hid the cable conveniently in the grooves in my dash and plugged in the cigarette lighter adapteripod crispiness from my sound systemfyi the aux box was 60$ [Edited on December 31, 2005 at 1:35 AM. the cheapest and most coveinant way is going to be to get a direct fm modulator. this basically plugs in between your head unit and the antenna and gives a hard wired connection. 25 $ and be done w. it.http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Delphi-FM-Modulator-SA10112-/sem/rpsm/oid/113893/catOid/-14641/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do[Edited on December 31, 2005 at 1:42 AM.
