Someone said the NBA is a joke in the Steve Smith thread, and it got me thinking...is there any reason other than shitty officials for why didn't Kobe get tossed for intent to injure when he threw a forearm directly at Miller's throat last night? I hate to harp on hockey all the time, but if an NHL player did that and didn't get tossed he'd have to pay for it with his face.

SHAQ ATTACK!

I think it was bullshit and intentional. Sounds just like Kobe. I guess that's not bad for a man who rapes women though.

KOBE ISNT LOUD MOUTHED LIKE STEVE SMITHWHAT DO YOU EXPECTOK LETS ASSUME SOMEONE WHO HAS A REPUTATION FOR SHENSWE WILL USE RASHEED WALLACEHE WOULD HAVE BEEN TOSSEDAS WOULD ARTESTAS WOULD S. JACKSONIs this your first bout with hypocrisy? In your college years? What society have you been raised in?Also, wasnt he found not guilty in his trial? Its nice to see people whining about hypocrisy in judgement sentences but automatically assume guilt in a statement a breath later.I didnt follow the trial, so i dont know if he was guilty or not. Someone clear that up (Read : call me out)[Edited on December 29, 2005 at 4:04 PM. Reason : you people are fucking crazy]

Now WTF are you on about.I don't give a fuck about the trial, I just want to know why Kobe didn't get tossed for attempting to seriously injure another player.

ZINGAnd i told you exactly why he didnt, do you want me to explain it over phone?
12/29/2005 4:24:29 PM
Nope, not my kind of flick.Anyway, no one has answered my question about the general disposition of the NBA in regards to intent to injure.
12/29/2005 4:25:12 PM
I hate Kobe. And I don't hate very many people.
12/29/2005 4:37:46 PM
I Love Kobe, I really don't think that it would get anyone thrown out of a game, not even a player like Rasheed, it may should have been a flagrant foul but that is it. Kobe has to assert himself and his team and let the league know you can't come in to LA and walk all over them. Oh yeah, maybe someone should mention, for our casual readers, that Mike Miller smacked him in the face before kobe elbowed him. Kobe had 3 stitches after the game.

Miller's hit looked accidental to me, meh.

brad miller is dirty (and has been since high school...one of my friends played against him)kobe is a babybrad + kobe = dramakobe is still a primadonna...and that's why he didn't get thrown out...

^ It was Mike Miller, not Brad.
12/30/2005 3:49:33 PM
kobe suspended for 2 gamesi saw mike miller play in high school...single handedly kept his team in the game against oak hill

Fuck Kobe. I have no respect for him. He wouldn't dare pull that shit against shaq or a "real" motherfucker had they come thru the lane. He pulls that dirty shit on an average dude, whom he know won't retaliate. He picked his poison, then he tries to back it with this "tough guy bad boy" persona. Fuck that guy man. His personality will keep him from ever being great.

OH NOES THREE STITCHES!Looked to me like there were four arms flailing in the air toward the ball and Kobe caught one in the face. Kobe, on the other hand, went directly at the throat without even pretending to make a move for the ball.Kobe is the Jason Doig of the NBA.
12/30/2005 4:50:36 PM
Mike Miller's elbow to Kobe's face looked clearly intentional to me. He had the forearm to the throat coming...and I'm no Kobe fan.I think both guys should be suspended for a couple games.
