I think Pacman would be a black/white cop comedy
12/28/2005 1:21:28 PM
or a drug comedy movie

A little yellow head trying to eat as many pills as possible in a maze while running from ghosts as a drug comedy movie? Please ...

A Castlevania movie would kick ass if done well. Of course, you could say that about a lot of games.

What is the status on the Metroid movie?
12/28/2005 1:59:55 PM
According to IGN, someone optioned it for a screenplay but that option "expired" (however that works), so I guess it's at square one. I don't have a link, but it was discussed in the mailbag section of cube.ign.com.

Unconfirmed list:
12/28/2005 2:18:15 PM
See just about all of the movies on that list have the potential to absolutely kick ass, but we all know that they are gonna end up like shit. I mean they cast Vin Diesel as Agent 47 in Hitman for Christ's sake.btw I personally think that Natasha Henstridge would make a perfect Samus.[Edited on December 28, 2005 at 3:25 PM. Reason : ]

splinter cell starring rob schneider

I'd be willing to lay money on it that 99% of whatever heroines occur in said movies would be played by Mila Jovovich.
12/28/2005 6:31:21 PM
^Or Angelina Jolie.

Unconfirmed listI bet 75% of those movies never will come out, I doubt half of them were ever even consideredI mean, crazy taxi, wtf?
12/28/2005 7:12:38 PM
i still don't see how vin diesel was cast as hitman. i mean i can see it, but its just stupid. if there was ever an actor born to play a certain role, its jason statham as hitman

There already IS a tekken movie; it is called Tekken: The motion picture.
12/28/2005 7:54:17 PM
seriously, most action movies are already set up as games anyway with action interspersed with minor-bosses building to a climax with a big boss battle
12/28/2005 7:57:15 PM
queen latifah in CRAZY TAXI: THE MOVIE
12/28/2005 8:09:26 PM
out of that list up there, i think splinter cell and prince of persia might could actually be cool but the rest would straight up suck
12/28/2005 9:52:28 PM
as long as tekken dosn't end up like street fighter it might have a chance
12/28/2005 10:36:09 PM
DOA has a trailer out
12/28/2005 10:38:14 PM
wtf is wrong with Hollywood now?? Is there no creativity?? re-makes and video game movies are another excuse/method of avoiding originality. I just don't like the idea of this at all.
12/28/2005 10:50:19 PM
i think tekken could work, because i don't care much about plot when i want a martial arts fighting movie. i want Bloodsport--follow one character on his way to the top with a mildly plausible subplot that allows for some comic relief, but focus mostly on delivering entertaining matchups of different fighting styles and 80's-style fighting music montages.

can' t wait for the PONG movie.seriously, it's coming.no, really.

Well, unfortunately Dead or Alive is definately being made. I saw the trailer for it and not even heavy drug use could make that movie look good.Castlevania could be a good movie, but Tekken, nah, I don't think so. Street Fighter made for a really crappy movie, and Mortal Kombat was good but it's sequel was garbage, so you figure that fighting games don't have much luck being good movies. And Crazy Taxi has actually been under consideration for a while. I remember first hearing about that back in 2002 or something. I think it was going to be set in New York. That's all I remember about it though. There's some potential in Silent Hill though. It's being directed by the same guy that did Brotherhood of the Wolf, which was a fucking fantastic movie.
