So I recently bought a new digitial camera. it was taking great pictures (as of Christmas day) - but I took some pictures on it todya and they look horrible. What could have happened to change the quality of pictures so greatly? The first below is the origional - the second is one I too just a few minutes ago.

yea definitely clean the lens. make sure ur settings didnt get messed up either: ie lower resolution pics or lighting effects turned on/off, etc.

I would agree with the other two. check the lens first. If that isn't it did you leave it out in your car or anything? With the large temp changes it could be condensation.

I've cleaned the lense, but it still looks bad. I didn't leave it in my car - just around the apartment. Does it look like it might have been dropped? It was in the back of my car on the trip home and might have fallen off of the back seat (it was in it's padded camera holder the whole time)

it should be fine. i've put digital cameras and SLR lenses through worse, and they're fine.the reason i said it was a smudge is b/c when i get one on my glasses, light behaves the same way.and since i don't clean my glasses much, i'm very familiar with that fuzz

what would be good to clean a lens with (if I dont have an actual "lens cloth") is a tissue better? a cloth?
