This game has the same intensity/hatred of a UNC/NCSU or UNC/Duke game easy. Fun game to watch..

Believe it or not there are rivalries outside of the ACC. And believe it or not some are just as good as the ones inside the ACC.

in terms of history its up there but these teams play onc meaningless game a year and the fans arent nearly as pumped. duke unc and last 5 years duke maryland are pure hate. recently duke unc may have faded but historically theres nothing like it. duke maryland isnt really a historic rivalry but recently nothing has been like it. playing 2 3 or 4 close games a year. 2001 really solidified it.

you're joking right? They absolutely fucking hate each other. This is the game of the year for the fans every year. It doesn't have conference ramifications but to say the fans aren't nearly as pumped is just ridiculous.

i see what youre saying about duke maryland and youre misunderstanding me. i shouldnt have said it. i know its not a true rivalry but with the level of play especially in the last 5 years and an almost split of the games (i think all close). back to back national championships and the fans for this game are rowdier than anything (especially the maryland fans). ask a maryland fan and this is the game they have circled. forget it though

lots of teams/fans have a certain game circled - i'd imagine this is a case of you aren't being open minded to the option of a rivalry you aren't completely familiar with being a better/more intense one
