jeep cherokee 5 speed... if you don't lift it you'll get about 27 mpg + they're kinda quick and not nearly as gay as most mentioned above. vw corrados are cool too.240 sx'sor about any suburu you can afford would be neat too.

^ corrados are getting pretty rare / hard to find parts for they're damn fun though - esp. with the vr6...you can get that engine in a mass produced car like the Jetta I'm trying to help sell above - reasonably fun and cheap to run
