live 1010am.Im sure this will be all over the news very soon.
12/17/2005 10:12:27 AM
If this is really the case, I vote we start the impeachment hearings this afternoon.
12/17/2005 10:26:32 AM
except it was legal....
12/17/2005 10:29:58 AM
There is no reason the NSA wouldnt have let the courts have their normal oversight if something fishy wasnt going on.All you have to do is report the wire taps ect 72hrs after you initiate them to the special secretive courts.republican talking points: -some senators knew about it(still doesnt make it legal)-he re-authorized the program several times(still doesnt make it legal)[Edited on December 17, 2005 at 10:36 AM. nice double post....this was completely legal...just cause you think something was fishy doesnt mean a dang thingthis was only brought up now to be a distraction from the huge sucess we are having in Iraq...and it will be gone very soon
12/17/2005 10:45:06 AM
12/17/2005 10:46:11 AM
they got approval from a special court...and repeating that was illegal doesnt make it true either
12/17/2005 10:47:39 AM
12/17/2005 10:49:20 AM
ok...my mistake....the judge just knew about it...but it looks like they didnt get approval...and face it, loser...my boy will NEVER be impeached....
12/17/2005 10:52:22 AM
yes...some judge was told about it. not the ones that are needed to do this LEGALLYhere i thought we were a country of LAWS. Authorizing something not legal is impeachable.
12/17/2005 10:55:40 AM
that may be...however, this was legal.... and he wont be impeached thats a factnice try
12/17/2005 10:58:06 AM
Former chief council to the NSA said yesterday that the law is ambiguous and if it were ever taken to the supreme court there's a good chance it would be ruled illegal, but he also said since the parties are usually never notified the search was performed, nobody would ever take it to court.
12/17/2005 10:58:07 AM
^^warrantless eavesdropping = ILLEGALits funny you dont even have a rebuttal for that.so what if some judge knew about it. no warrent, no approval from the proper court, not legal.[Edited on December 17, 2005 at 11:04 AM. Reason : -]
12/17/2005 11:00:05 AM
ya know...what i want to know is who is if we are so concerned about leaks and crap (see Valary Plame or whatver her name is)...who is out there leaking national security secrets that jeoperdize our security? this was a highly classified program!!! we should let fitzgerald investigate this too
12/17/2005 11:06:19 AM
4th Amendment for any idiots claiming that this is legit."The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."Love my country. Fear my government. It's time to put Bush, Cheney, Rice, and Rumsfeld on the stand./real Conservative
12/17/2005 11:07:50 AM
12/17/2005 11:08:14 AM
^exactly. they only need the approval of the special Surveillance Courts. Which the order from Bush said not to get.Youre furthering my point.[Edited on December 17, 2005 at 11:13 AM. Reason : -]
12/17/2005 11:12:43 AM
Im still outraged that someone out there is leaking national security secrets!! This person should be found!! fitzgerald should be allowed to investigate this.
12/17/2005 11:16:11 AM
Yes someone should investigate both the leak and the program.
12/17/2005 11:17:41 AM
probably

um, yes, they didand it was all over msnbc. still is. there have been interviews, pundits, and commentary since yesterday.
12/18/2005 1:06:07 PM
nah....there was relatively little said about it...like on cnn.com right now...they are talking about Bono...you would think this would be much bigger news...all im saying is there has not been as much about it as i thought there would be....which will probably change tomorrow
12/18/2005 1:10:59 PM
The bulk of Meet the Press, This Week, and Fox News Sunday were all discussing the wiretaps...

What is Condi trying to say? Here, she's smack-talking FISA, saying it's not good enough, trying to explain why the Pres. had to do what he did:
12/18/2005 8:10:24 PM
She just plain wasnt making sense. Like I said, she didnt come with the right talking points. Obviously something is fishy.
12/18/2005 9:53:50 PM
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10530417/More spin...trying to cover his ass before the people get pissed enough to demand he be tried for committing felonies.
12/19/2005 12:42:20 PM
I think he's relegated himself to doing press conferences every half day to defend his every action. You could take all the pictures of him that go up on cnn.com's homepage every hour and make a flipbook. [Edited on December 19, 2005 at 12:46 PM. Reason : ]
