Maybe I am displaying a material amount of naivety by asking the following:Are there other politicians as well meaning and concientous as this guy?Plz inform me as to who they are and why you see them as such.Thanks.

huh
12/16/2005 9:51:12 AM
mccain "well meaning"? give us a break. this guy's just as much a scumbag as the rest of em
12/16/2005 9:53:16 AM
12/16/2005 9:53:40 AM
I'm sure there are others like him, but they don't have nearly the exposure.
12/16/2005 5:09:41 PM
i'd like to think so.....possibly barack obama? he hasn't been around as long so i don't know as much about him, but he seems like a sincere guy.of course, they all can be a little bit sneaky and misleading sometimes.
12/16/2005 8:52:36 PM
I read one of his books a while back. I'm really impressed with the guy.
12/16/2005 9:09:10 PM
Yeah, I mean, I don't agree with his politics entirely, but I feel that he is a genuine, real person. Maybe that's wrong. But that's my perception since I first heard of him around 1999 or 2000.
12/16/2005 9:44:18 PM
McCain may be genuine. But I think he's horribly wrong. After the torture thing that he drafted up, it is now illegal to put foreign prisoners under the same treatment that American passengers get on commercial airliners. No "degrading" acts, so says McCain. Well that's open to interpretation. The last time I was screened at the airport, the guy took me to the side and literally felt everything that I had on my body. Yes, he touched my balls. Personally, that's degrading, but I didn't complain because I understand why they're doing it.Unfortunately for our country, now our GI's can't do the same thing to Al-Qaeda. It's unfortunate that he wants to extend CONSTITUTIONAL protections to ENEMY COMBATANTS... it's unbelievable.

12/16/2005 10:31:02 PM
Theres a difference between being feely searched by airport security and being chained naked in the dark without a potty.
12/16/2005 11:02:52 PM
Yes there is a difference and that's what senator mccain doesn't understand. He's made a feely search illegal.And..
12/16/2005 11:23:25 PM
Please show me the legislation that makes a body search illegal.I'm begging you.
12/16/2005 11:26:04 PM
Anything deemed "degrading" which is open to so many interpretations, it's ridiculous.Yes, a feely search could be degrading... especially if performed by a female GI.
12/16/2005 11:26:47 PM
Oh, that's all you've got.gg

Are you trolling or retarded?Do you know what judges are for? Do you know what they do? Do you know how the fucking American justice system works? Jesus Christ. You're a fucking idiot. Let me say this again. YOU. ARE. A. FUCKING. IDIOT.
12/16/2005 11:30:54 PM
*yawn*And yet you still don't refute the point. Ad hominem attacks are fantastic when you don't have anything to come back with. Here's the thing. So there's an incident where an enemy combatant is crying "degrading" treatment by an American gi. This combatant could have info that we need to prevent a roadside bomb. But because the American Justice System has to opine on this subject, it could take days, then the roadside bomb is carried out, all because "degrading" was under question.Yes, I know how the American Justice System works. It's slow as hell (ask Tookie). And when you're dealing with gathering intelligence in the field, you don't have the luxury of time. Senator McCain bought time for the enemy here, and I'm not trolling.[Edited on December 16, 2005 at 11:33 PM. Reason : .]

McCain should get the Republican Nomination for the next election. I would vote for him, but then again I would prolly vote for any Republican candidate.
12/18/2005 11:07:05 AM
Run Condi RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!
12/18/2005 12:18:06 PM
condi will never be president...and neither will mccain....most republicans cant stand the guy so he will never get the nomination
12/18/2005 1:03:35 PM
12/18/2005 1:30:31 PM
I would be interested in a McCain/Powell 2008 campaign. I might even vote for them if the Dems float some worthless shit like Kerry again. The bumper stickers would be like WE KEEP IT REAL, SON!
12/18/2005 2:28:03 PM
I'm Republican and would vote for McCain.
12/18/2005 4:58:09 PM
I might and im liberal -- but it doest matter, he wont get a nomination as a republican
12/18/2005 5:00:45 PM
^exactly. McCain is the most effective democrat in the senate.
12/18/2005 8:37:50 PM
You have to support torture to be nominated
12/18/2005 9:47:45 PM
He was very close to getting nominated in '96, and that was against an opponent who everybody thought was just gonna sweep through without a challenge. Bush had raised several hundred million dollars more than McCain and had a lot more support from the establishment, but McCain made it a damn close race. Since then he has made enemies with some party loyalists, but in doing so has won a lot of respect from both sides of the aisle. He would easily win the nomination in '08.
12/18/2005 10:14:06 PM
oops, I meant the 2000 primaries, not '96.

Barack Obama is definately like McCain as far as intentions and integrity are concerned. Really you could argue any moderate, both Dem or Rep, are probably the ones like McCain.[Edited on December 19, 2005 at 1:56 PM. Reason : works sucks during xmas]
