Im taking BUS 360 next semester with Gooner. How did everyones final grades in that class turn out? I think Gooners new so I couldnt look up a grade distribution on him. Thanks

dont worry about the grades in this one. gooner is probably one of the best guys at state. knows his stuff and actually teaches you pratical applications to marketing. show up to class, study a bit for the test, and theres absolutely no way you can do bad. plus, you actually learn something useful along the way.

Yeah I hear great things about Gooner as a professor. Im not too concerned about learning the material and being able to apply it to the real world. I just wanted to make sure that this was a class you can get an A in, maybe even an A+. Does he give an extra credit? Drop lowest test grade? Basically I cant have any anything other than an A next spring and I want to get a feel for this professors grade distribution.

I kinda doubt he'll actually post our individual exam grades though, he'll probably just post our course grade.

You can get an A if you aren't stupid. All you have to do is study the notes/read the chapters. He basically tells you the page numbers that the test questions come from, and he gives practice exams before the test that usually have a few of the same problems.

for attendance there is a sign in sheet that is passed around. It is really easy to have someone sign you in.

His class was my most enjoyable all semester. Great guy and he makes the material somewhat palatable. I am hoping for an A+ in there.

I have talked to 2 other people that were in there as well and they say the same thing. Either the grades are wrong, or he jerked us around with all of his Curve all your test and Extra Credit bullshit.

I got a C+, which would mean that I had to make like a 60 on the final exam, and there be no curve on any of the other tests like he said there would be. I felt like I did extremely well on the final exam, so yeah, I'm very confused over this grade.

He led us to believe we should not worry about our grades all semester. In fact i remember him saying exactly that. I just think he screwed me and most everyone else i talked to over. I for one am not taking it with out a fight.

i got nothing lower than an 88 on all the tests......and ended up with a B-!!!! what the heck is that about?? I wonder if everyone gives him crap, he'll have to respond before jan. 9th!!

Someone (the TA's perhaps) probably made an error when doing the grade calculations. The exams counted 20%, but the final exam, even though it was just like the other exams, counted 30%. I would not be surprised at all if they forgot this and counted the final exam as 20% like the others. It is reassuring at least to see that everyone else seems to have abormally low grades as well. When tracs is updated at 1 AM, hopefully the final exam grade will be entered there, so everyone can figure up their grades on their own.

It was pretty tough, but I think I did fairly well on it. My biggest concern was that before the exam he gave us pages and topics to study, and made it very clear that there was no point in looking at anything else. I think that was a bit misleading, because there were definitely questions that were not from the sections he told us to study.

^^ Precisely. He basically made us assume "no matter what, everyone in here will end up with As, and a few Bs". At least that's how I felt.

And the final was way hard, and definitely had Q's that weren't on that study final. I dunno man...this guy was awesome at the beginning, but now I see him a bit differently. He definitely gave us a huge false impression all semester.

I had made 98, 95, 90 and I apparently I completely just bombed my final. If the final exam grade is accurate then my A- is accurate.

Namwob, why don't you quit worrying about what our final grades are and just pick a section and take it. You've heard what you need to know -Gooner is a great teacher with a few issues when it comes to grades and what he promises. So take that, figure out how you think the other professor is and make an educated guess on who would be the best fit for you. You don't need to keep prying people to tell you their final grades. Obviously everyone got a little lower than they were expecting but no one seems to have gotten a horribly low or inaccurate grade. Just lower from what he had given us the impression of.

He bumped my grade up big time- I loved the class, but was not good at his tests. I prob earned a solid C or worse since I did bad on the final, but I ended up with a B. He likes for people to take the time and effort to comment in class and to get to him. For some reason he really liked me and my friends. The last day of class, he went around and people he thought made good contributions he wrote down their name. I think thats what helped my grade, BIG TIME.

He really was a good teacher, in that he taught us really well, but if you are looking for an easy A.... he might not be for you.

^^hey man, i appreciate the pm. I'd just say stick with gooner for the sake of how he teaches his class. Having no outside work or projects makes it easier to focus on other classes. and you can make an A if you read the book.
