How does it compare to his tests that he has given during the semester? Any other feedback would be helpful also...

doesnt he tell you exactly what types of questions will be on it and how many of each?
12/12/2005 1:51:47 PM
when I took him the final wasn't hard nessessarily... just long. Like 18 or 19 questions. I knew all of the material and couldn't write fast enough to finish in the 3 hours.hope that helps some

It's definitely not the same as the semester tests. It is lengthy, as mentioned before, and the last few problems were from material that was rushed over and never clear. His final dropped me from a borderline A+ to a solid A-, and I spent like 4 hours on it.[Edited on December 12, 2005 at 3:05 PM. Reason : ]

yea it dropped me from a A- to a B+ I think

i was really sick and even on the makeup day i still had a huge fever and felt like shit. i just kind of gave up so i could go back to sleep and i still had a good gradeand ps i didn't learn anything in that class and its catching up with my nowi hope you enjoyed your patterns cause they are completely worthless when you really need to know the material
12/12/2005 3:47:56 PM
Wow, 18-19 problems? How is this going to get graded in time when the test is tomorrow morning and grades are due by Wednesday? Jon, what do you mean patterns?[Edited on December 12, 2005 at 4:26 PM. Reason : :]

when i had him he didnt teach the material (i.e. the what and why you were doing stuff) he would only teach you how to solve things and he didnt even cover everything other sections coveredthats all fine and dandy when the information is presented like that but when you actually have to use the stuff and understand the concepts of what you are doing you wont be able to

lost, Did you just take that horrible test like me?[Edited on December 13, 2005 at 11:59 AM. Reason : s]

was it like we told you?
12/13/2005 12:00:43 PM
^^Yes, It was 14 questions, but they were difficult. The hardest ones were the material we covered last, and they were harder than the ones on the 3rd exam. There was one problem we have never done before. There goes my A probably.
12/13/2005 12:05:49 PM
i went from a+ to a- in that class. the final was hard.

The Laplace transformations really got me.[Edited on December 13, 2005 at 12:23 PM. Reason : .]

^^ I didnt have trouble with those. It was the undetermined coefficient method one and 12-14.

I'm definitely am not getting an A in this class. After that final I'll be happy with a B-. It was so much worse than I expected . . .
12/13/2005 1:13:56 PM
What happened to the multiple choice he talked about??
12/13/2005 1:22:17 PM
here is my quote from school tool:
12/13/2005 1:34:16 PM
I'm pretty sure he went over everything on the final. Granted, he covered some of it very quickly, but I didn't see anything I hadn't seen before--I just didn't remember how to do them all.I actually thought 12-14 were some of the easier ones on the test. I know I got 14 completely right and probably pretty close on 12 and 13.
12/13/2005 1:46:00 PM
Yes, that test was quite a surprise. I'll probably have to audit an MA341 class down the road to make sure I actually get this stuff. A lot of the problems that had the matrices before didn't have them this time around (you know, the y'=(matrix)y ones, etc were turned into two sets of problems this time around). However I think I saved myself based on something I read in my notes last night (thankfully I just wrote down everything on the board, plus the work).I would still be happy with just a B in that class after that. Also, didn't he say that he hated the surprises that professors would put on the final exam?I'm just glad I got it out of the way. I was sick (and in the ER for 3 hours under watch) sunday, and did my best to study for the test today. (I knew he had to leave after our class and I figured it would've been best if I just got the test out of the way.)I don't think that I would've done that much better if I was healthy though. I just hope he grades gently, that was rather different from his tests (which were terribly easy).

Natchela,Do you remember the Equilibriums for 13, and 14.. I remember something along the lines of (0,1), (0,-1) for 13 and (2,0),(-2,0) for 14. I think i got (1,1) (-1,1) for 12 or something similiar. On 14 I may have screwed up because I ended up with 2 circles.
12/13/2005 2:06:51 PM
^^^ i took it a year or two agoand i swear i never saw some of that material maybe he has changed his ways[Edited on December 13, 2005 at 2:07 PM. Reason : ^]
12/13/2005 2:07:29 PM
^^sounds like what I got. The only thing that I'm really not sure about with those is that on number 12, I had in spiraling inward at (-1,-1).... shit. That'd be why. I put the point in the wrong fucking spot even though I had the right numbers.Yes, I hope she grades gently.
